Being in traffic does SUCK. The left leg can get over worked.had it happen one thanksgiving going to inlaws. Never. Took it there for that holiday again.
Winter beater is an 03 Found on road dead Ranger.

Yes it does , but that doesn't happen too often for me , but a major PIA when it does . I'm willing to accept that risk , my winter beater is my Yota 5 speed and my poor man's sport car is my Cruze 6 speed

Always had manuals but when I got the Corolla in 2015 it wasn't an option. Took a bit getting used to no shift points but have come to like the CVT tranny in it. My COMBINED city/highway MPG is 40, get about 46 highway. Feels weird now driving the wife's rav4 with it's normal automatic trans. Seems like the computer is too quick on having it change gears so it feels like it never just stays in one except once you get up to highway speeds. Corolla just gently press on the gas and it just goes, nice and smooth.

My vehicles are too old and basic to have that fancified stuff ;)
I would turn off the stability control in the Jeep because it caused more problems than it solved. I could get that thing to go anywhere in anything - as long as the VSA was off.

That is what I do when I need to. My Explorer also has a button to turn off the overdrive, which I take advantage of in hilly areas. It keeps the vehicle from freewheeling down hills - not quite like using the gears in a manual transmission, but helpful never-the-less

I have fun even in my little 4 cyl Focus. No it isn't fast, but still fun - love going thru small traffic circles when there isn't any traffic :D

Have gotten my quarterly checkbook reconciliation completed this morning. Heard on the news that the local Audubon Society is doing its Winter Bird Count so started making a list of what I am seeing out there. Saw a brilliant male cardinal. Also saw what looked like two very small crows - smaller than blue jays that came by a couple of minutes later. Weird as no young should be around this time of year. Hopefully they will come back to the seed block so I can get a look at them thru binoculars to verify if they were, or were not crows.

Not to fond of Grackles, Regular blackbirds are OK, but Grackles are aggressive towards smaller birds, They fly in numbers and overwhelm where ever they go. Love red cardinals and other colorful birds. Most of them tolerate each other. I keep multiple feeders going so birds like blue jays can't bully the small birds. So many of my visititing birds are so friendly, that just stay there while I fill the feeders, or if I sit right near their feeders. Some will land on you if you hold still.
