I am going under the assumption that it is just like the splitter I use, and it has a spring loaded pin you pull and then the ram can be raised to the vertical position.

Looking at the large photo, it does indeed have the pin. The ram portion of the splitter is to be lifted up for vertical splitting, leaving the tires/engine/tongue horizontally on the ground.

But you are correct that the designers NEVER intended it to be operated in that particular fashion.

Your second picture is a joke correct ? You didn't really try and use the splitter in that position did you ?

    Log Splitter

The splitter works vertically and horizontally so yes, I have used it that way for large logs. Look the splitter up online and you will see what I mean.

It is intended to release a pin and tip just the beam and cylinder up into vertical position. Not tip the whole frame up... Not sure how you even got the thing lifted up like that... Its alot of weight.

I just realized what I did. I really didn't pay attention to what I was doing I just picked it up and set it that way. You're absolutely right. I've done it a thousand times pull the pin. I don't know I think my old age has finally caught up with me. Thank you for finding that I will send a different picture LOL

I'm surprised you were able to get it in that position. Good luck with your sale.

I have to admit Dave, when my wife called me and told me because I told her to look at it we just left and laughed and laughed. I've never done that before. Thank you for that I haven't laughed so hard in a long time

I absolutely will NOT Fu## with that man. :bug:

I'm 98% sure I cannot set mine up on end like that.
Not that I'd want to.. but the fact remains.

I dunno about that, I've made many a mistake on my own, but with Jill or others, usually there's someone that goes "are you sure you wanna do this??"

I gotta think his wife would step back and say "unh uh" (not sure if that's how to spell the sound)

Well if you stood it on end like that for a period of time, you could probably accomplish emptying all the fluids.
