I bought one of these a couple of years ago, with the rope it was $110 then, that's some tough rope that comes with it, you can get longer rope included
Broke down and ordered it from Tree. Got the kit with 150' of rope along with a sling. Should be here Thursday. No tax, no shipping, what's not to love
Back to the OP whipping question.... especially pertaining to three strand I just came across this... 3 strand rope end splice - Google Search: there’s tons of step by step info and it’s kind of fun to try it out besides!!
Speaking of tuff rope... the 3 strand my friends got with his maasdam has seen some major abuse and it’s stretched so tight that it will stand out horizontal about 6 feet just holding it in your hand!
My wife bought me a Big Shot slingshot for Xmas several years ago...... Thing is a blast ! Yeah it'll put the throw weight anywhere you want it but rocks, golf balls ECT will go out of sight..
Guy at work made an air powered launcher! Never had so much fun with a bicycle pump and some pipe fittings before.
Wow, I got mine today and I just ordered it on Tuesday. Great service. Looks well made and as sturdy as I'll ever need. My next question is: how is the endless loop sling used?
That intrigues me too, a couple llama items and a dog leash I had used some very cool whippings. I'm ok with a crochet hook, but would like to look into knots some day.
Just got mine today also. I should open the box I was wondering if the sling goes around a tree for an anchor and you attach the hook on the maasdam to the sling.
I have a couple of these slings, I got from Harbor Freight, got some big shackles to hook onto them now.
All different ways to rig it. I’d have to look but I think there should be a tag sewn on it that tells you the different working loads in the different configurations. Just pulled this off the internet quick. My personal favorite is the choker set up especially if your vertical angle is a bit steeper it will hold the anchor better. Another thing like HDRock said about getting a couple shackles that makes a better, easier attachment to me. The throat of the hook on the maasdam is a touch on the small side and trying to jam that sling in there is tough. The other reason I’d run a shackle is that the load won’t be so concentrated on that narrow little hook on the sling, gives it a wider rounder holding point.
