Out of the 4 brands which one/ones would you get?

Think you will be very satisfied with those North Country.

 

I do like them so far. Only thing is I have my feed rate up pretty high. I have it at 4.5-5 right now. These pellets are very small with the longest ones prob around 1/2”

 

Might have been banged around the average length for the 60 bags I have toasted is around 3/4" with probably the smallest being 1/2" . They were longer than the LaCrete's I toasted .

 

Noticed a little carbon buildup on the slope of the burn pot but boy do these pellets burn hot

 

I just reread this post and I'm confused, that happens easily these days. In this post people a saying the NC are very good, yet in other posts I've read that NC are ashy. Does NC make a blend and a softie? I ask because I'm already thinking about what I'm going to buy for next year. My Blazer stash is down to a half a ton so I need more good stuff. My choices at todays prices are LaCrete and North Country at $289 and Spruce Pointe at $284.

 

Sub my experience was they created more ash than Northern Max but put out great heat just was surprised on how much ash they created. With that said it is a very light and fluffy ash and might I say might be similar in weight to the Northern's but by volume they produced a heck of a lot more. All I have seen or toasted would be the softies I don't think they produce a blend or not.
Great pellet though liked them a lot but much more expensive then what I paid for the Northern Max but that was a spring Purchase.
Daffonce has reported that the Spruce Pointe's lack the excessive fines this year that may be the way to go . I wish I could find some really liked them.

 

In general the ash from softies volume wise is higher then the hardwoods. Weight wise the softies ash is much lighter then hardwoods. So it clears the pot much better and once in the ash pan it can be tamped down more easily. With nc or sp i can go 3/4 -1 ton in the ashpan with these before needing to empty it. I can go similar or more with a hardwood, but personally i prefer the softies. I also feel they have better heat.

 

I'm bragging on the Cubex at the moment great heat and I love almost no fines and no dust . As far as ash I do a quick vac everyday rather then dumping the burn pot , also I have to give props to the CB 1200 it eats anything and no length issues .On the softies EasyBlaze then LaCrete's .
