My wife once bought a cheap right angle screwdriver (cordless but did not last very long) and I would really like to buy a decent one. But having trouble finding one. Any suggestions other than using a drill?

well my first suggestion is a right angle drill depending on how small you want. Second one would be search EBAY for a right angle drill/screwdriver for aviation, there are all sorts of neat aviation stuff. I have one I can get probably in a 1" space, use threaded bits can drill or "screw". So depending on your planned use I would shoot for a small chucked aviation ra drill so you could do either. If not a ra cordless drill which matches whatever battery brand you are using now.

May not be what your looking for but have you ever tried a 1/4” impact driver? For driving screws there is nothing that even comes close. They will bury lag screws effortlessly!

I have a couple of impact drivers like DNH ’s video. And they are awesome! I have a DeWalt 12 volt drill and impact driver kit which is awesome for smaller/light duty jobs. I have a 18 volt kit which is better for bigger jobs, ie driving a lot of long screws into framing lumber. These are older kits and the newer ones have slightly bigger batteries.
I like most of the major brands, DeWalt, Milwaukee, Mikita, etc. I really like the smaller sized impact drivers because they are light.

I have several Milwaukee M18 units including the hammer drill/driver and impact driver but I just picked up this M12 kit for $120 on sale. Included the drill, impact driver 2 batteries charger and case.

Great for small quick jobs. I wazs also checking out the right angle driver attachment.

My buddy is a Dewalt guy and he picked up a very similar 12v Dewalt kit on sale for $180 at the same time.

I don't have an impact driver yet but do want one. But I need to get into a smaller space for something too. May just end up borrowing one.

Just have a job now and then that needs a short screwdriver and I like it to be powered rather than just using a straight screwdriver and my hands. Don't like the Manuel or Spanish jobs anymore.

I own this set. I didn't get the same price you did, but I wouldn't give it up. My hands have a lot of arthritis in them. Heavy tools are painful to hold, but not these. Small, lightweight and easily does the job much better than my older Craftman's 19v set. The light on the tools is a fantastic addition.

I like that the light on these stay on unlike my M18 stuff that is only on when the trigger is engaged.

I have a 3/8 ratchet/socket set that has screw driver bits in it, would that do the job for you Dennis?

I remembered that my wife just picked up this from a local hardwhar store as a donation for a DU banquet we have coming up. Looks pretty versatile with many different angles.

Does look versatile. Sad that it is only 8 volts. $100

This is what I have along with a bunch of other tools that run on the same batteries

    20180206_141422.jpg

I useed one of these in the factory adjusting headlights but surprised how much torque it really does have, maybe not enough for what you need but maybe you need to look at Power screwdrivers, they have cheaper ones

Here is a Ryobi add-on tool, if I remember right that's what you have is Ryobi cordless stuff, could be wrong

Dang I forgot I have one of these it works good too, you just have to press down on the back of it to keep the bit engaged with the screw

I may have to end up with a drill but would rather not if possible to find something else.
