A friend of mine had 4 trees dropped by the tree trimmers. One hard Maple and three Red Maples, I got two truckloads today, and am planning on getting two more loads tomorrow. A couple of pics of the loads and the pile back at the house. I was on the road to his place within 30 minutes of him calling me to ask if I wanted it.
That's some heafty looking wood! Most gooder score! Looks like you gonna get to spend some quality time with your splitter and a bunch of stacking practice.
Some of the rounds were very heavy lifting. The bigger ones I had to cut to 12" instead of 16" so I could pick em up. Also, in case any eagle eyes spot them, there are 3 or 4 Hemlock rounds in the mix.
I don't see much hemlock down here so I probably couldn't spot a hemlock round with a telescope! Now a hemlock tree in the wild is a different story. I've hiked and bicycled enough in the great, frozen Northeast to know one when I see it.
Good Lookin, NH! Sugar maple is like rocket fuel, and red is nothing to sneeze at either. Been running it almost exclusively for a couple weeks here and it gets the job done for sure.
Speedy Gonzales like, at least thats how i imagine it, you speeding towards the ole maple. Nice one buddy! Also some nice weather too for cutting wood!
Nice score! Good job getting it quick. Good firewood disappears quick on the side of the road around here!
