Preparation is key right? I woke up to ice this morning. I will say that I was into a 12 hour burn with some nice hot coals Eric VW. I just had reloaded at 12 pm and she was rolling. The basement lights flickered about 2 Times so I snapped into action. Grabbed the Honda 3000 and made sure my stove fan extension cord was free so that IF IT went out then I would be ready. 1 hour later, getting ready to hop in the shower for a 2pm delayed church service and as I was about to step into the shower, in my birthday suit, bam, silence fell over the whole house. This is my first to round with lost power while burning. I just knew the stack temp would be a zillion so I admit I did panic but I also knew that I was prepared. Upon entering the basement I rolled the generator outside on its wheeled swivel chair (lol) and fired it up. Then I shut both drafts down to zero to give me some time. Then I proceeded to the extension cord, unplugged it and ran out the basement door to my already running generator. All good now. Stack temp is in check. Let’s hope this Dont last but we have a boatload of ice. You guys have a great Sunday!!
12 hours?!!! Good for you! Nice to be prepared, ain’t it. Thanks for only sharing pics of the genny and stove
I couldn’t believe it. I loaded it up at midnight last night and I slept in because of delayed church and it was still warm so I let it go. Came down at 12 pm and had an inch of hot coals!! I was like what??? Opened the ash door, threw a few dry splits in and off she went. So freakin awesome! Yes being prepared is huge.
Mentions he was in his birtday suit when the power went out. Lots of details on springing to action, but no mention of getting dressed before hand..... That was a sight we all are glad to have missed.
Lol I had one foot in the shower and the bathroom fan/light combo cutoff. I was like rutt ro. I did shuffle my pants on but just a coat and no shirt. Yea you wouldn’t have wanted to see that. Lol.
