the property where I deer hunt I also cut firewood. The land owner is a great guy and we have become good friends. I’ve told him since deer season I need to get some wood cut. As of now I have no wood burner due to moving. I plan on getting a Vermont castings Merrimack insert or a quadratic-fire voyager grand. Hopefully by next year. Anyway I went down a week or so ago to cut wood and the property owner was there and needed a hand. So no wood got cut. I showed up yesterday to cut wood and he had a friend bring this in for me!! Ahh some oak! That I quickly realized I need a bigger saw!! I also know this stuff won’t be ready for a few years!! He did ask it I could clean up an area that a tree fell across the road and he pushed out of the way with a loader. NO PROBLEM!
Not nearly as much as I want to. Got the side of the road brush cleared up and changed blades. Moved to the other side and hit either a nail or a bullet before I even went through 1 tank of gas. Didn’t have much time to sharpen had to get the kids from school.
I’m still here. Been busy with the new house. Some days to lazy to log on so I just read. Sounds like your doing better. Glad to hear.
Anyone have either of those inserts I mentioned above. Looking for an honest review. Read somewhere Vermont castings went down hill a few years ago... looks to me they made a turn around??
