    I dont think it ever ends, but it definitly slows down to almost a halt. But spring is usually the easy gathering, cause most dont want to think about gathering wood till the fall...:whistle:

    Very true, for most wood burners. And most people don't want to think of gathering wood period. That means work. :jaw:

    I'm jealous. I've only had a little bit of ash to burn and it was great stuff, but I seem to have missed the wave of EAB victims; I'm in the city, and dead trees in residential areas are taken down sooner rather than later. There are still some big ones in the parks, but they don't let anyone take those.

    Ash is a great firewood, seasons fast and burns awesome. Only thing about it is it seems to produce a lot of, well, ASH! I've heated almost entire seasons off of nothing but ash and a little nighttime oak, I have a ton of it in the stacks.......
