ICE ICE and more ICE at home in town (Cambridge ) it rained like a mother like it has not in quite some time. But here in Luneyburg ICE did i say Ice, in the trees on the ground everything covered in ice. Got up this morning and walked onto the driveway and a sliding I went, grabbed for the front handle covered in Ice no go grabbed the back door handle the same finally grabbed onto the bed and stopped my sliding like I was on a snowboard. Had I not grabbed the truck bed I would have slid down the driveway all the way into the street.

Kind of beautiful all the ice in the trees but brought back a short flashback of a few years back when we had the monster of an ice storm and lost power for 7 days most at least 2 weeks we are lucky as the town hall is on the same grid with a few important town people so our power gets restored sooner than others.

Work as usual sucked especially on Tuesday as its "Team Meeting" day (waste of my time as I could be out in the field doing what i do) and I got called out on schedule and it got nasty, problem is the number one guy under the owner of the company was the one doing the calling. Oh well have pretty thick skin and if it was realistic or reasonable i would have felt better but heh is what it is. I was in the right don't know what the scheduler put down for dates but they were not reality, nor was his dates or process of what he thought should have happened. "I thought we were gonna do it this way" Well no I actually built it as it is called out in the official documents the drawings. Wanted to say go pound sand but did not although I did get somewhat animated and told him when we got to talking about another elevator foundation status I told him if I was not in the meeting arguing or defending my actions I would be out directing the subs on building the actual elevator pit including laying it out myself !
Home now doing my chores happily .

Update: now getting warmer who would have thought so now its Melting melting a good thing maybe I won't be sliding down the driveway at 3:30 tomorrow morning . YAY

Yesterday morning I went out to sand my way to the tent garage yesterday morning because I knew it was icy. was fortunate that it turned to snow that stuck to the ice so only did about 6 feet before I gave it up as not needed. this morning was way worser since it had rained/sleeted yesterday into last night

Power outages in my town yesterday from all the ice (never got above freezing). Funny thing is that I didn't know until I saw my town featured on the local new station. Their live report had some places, not 4-5 blocks from me, either still out or just back on. Mine never even flickered - judging by the microwave, cook stove and alarm clock, since they weren't blinking (actually my cook stove shows "PF" when power is interrupted)

Same here. Never got much past 31-34 degrees and the 34 degrees did not happen until last night after the sleet and freezing rain was done. Luckily here the precip was on the lower side but at work the ice buildup was far worse. No power loss but everything is still ice covered this morning. The forecast of 40-45 deg was way off.

I'm confused about NH members mentioning 50's and 40's being expected for yesterday. The forecast I saw Monday evening on channel 9 was for 30's - mostly mid 30's. I didn't really look at any other sources, so maybe that is where the difference is (or they changed it Tuesday morning - I leave for work way before they come on the air).

It may have been changed but on WMUR the forecast can vary with the weather person. Even Tuesday morning I was seeing forecast on wunderground of 45 degrees at home but that changed by the hour as the day went on. Even on WMUR, by 10am the freezing rain was suppose to have changed to a warmer rain but that never happened. Storm must have tracked a little different than expected. I never got the heavy rain at home but we got it at work just not the warmer temps. We had the driveway/parking and dock areas sanded mid morning but that didnt really help much. tractor trailor came in around 3:30 and had a hell of a time getting in and out.

Highway was a parking lot this morning. Black ice and about 4 wrecks. I got about half way and saw all the brake lights, So I took that exit and hit the back roads. Phew, Glad I watched the news for I headed out!! I'd likely still be sitting in it!!

Temps. were low here also, 27* all morning yesterday, finally hit 34* about 8:00pm last night w/ the rain, trees dropped .5"+ of ice all at once.. Was loud and crunchy here for about an hour.

Thanks to B's post early yesterday :handshake: was able to get outside and get the vehicles cleared of ice early  but it was accumulating all day. Treated roads were not horrible, but everything else was slick.

Had to torch the walkway again yesterday, 1" of ice buildup, rain was rolling down straight for the door sill. Was almost exactly (1) year ago that we needed to do that..

TV Weather early on weekend said near 50°... Saturday they changed that to mid 40s...
Yesterday my thermometer never got above 33°....
This morning I had nearly 1/4" of ice on the roof of the car...
(didn't go out at all yesterday)

It cooled down last night after the warm up and with all the ice melting it sounded like it was pouring down rain. This morning everything was frozen again and the roads were treacherous but the funny thing was in the hills (backroads) until I got to route 2 were not so bad. But once on route 2 i was buzzing along listening to the radio not paying extra attention and sure enough I felt the truck start sliding sideways ! Whoa it was bad really bad tapped on the brakes and sure enough was solid ice, was not but a few miles and sure enough accident this is at 4:00 am so not many cars on the road and was not held up to much. I think it woke a lot of people up though and i actually put my emergency flashers on and slowed way way down. White knuckle ride for sure for the next 30 miles as it was even below freezing near Cambridge somehow.

My ton of MWP were scheduled to be delivered today by Wood Pellet Warehouse. I used them before and have never had any issues. So I was a bit surprised when I got home to find a hand stacked, unwrapped pallet of pellets in my driveway. With rain scheduled for this weekend, I was quite irate as I won't get them in the basement before then. I started firing off e-mails and making phone calls and finally got through. They claim they covered them, but I don't see how the shroud could blow off. Anyway they said they would send someone to cover them in the morning. I took a short nap and when I got up, the pellets were already covered. Initially, I also thought they shipped me the wrong product. These bags were clear/chit brown. It turns out they are MWP, Scot must be using new bags. I already miss the old log cabin bag. I'll try to post a pic when I haul them in, but don't hold your breath. I haven't mastered uploading pictures with this phone I have.
