What’s the forums opinion on the jonesred line. Is it not made by husqvarna? My brother has a 55 cc with 20” bar and it cut and runs really well. I’m thinking of giving one a try. Fixin to buy a new saw in the next couple weeks. I don’t need anything bigger than a 20” and 50-60cc. Any recommendations?

Basically identical to the Husky. They are good saws.

CS2258. Orange version is 555. A good bit cheaper than the 2260 (562xp) and only slightly less power.

Great saws I have three. But like the rest of them there are cheaper grades sold in the box stores. Which is fine for some, just think about what you need to do with it and expect out of it.

Jonsered is going away and going to be sold as redmax. Not sure if all jonsered saws will be transitioned to the new brand or if only certain ones will be produced. Good thread here

But as said jonsered is basically a husqvarna in black and red with a few cosmetic and ergonomic differences.

I bought a CS2159 in 2004, right off the bat I didn't like the muffler out let as it was at the top of the cat muffler. I just wore a OVE glove when I used it, but it was so hot that I now have a nice grove cut in the brake handle top part. I finaly got a few bucks and bought a new aftermarket muffler with a uper right hand corner out let away from the hand. I think about 2006 I was trying to do some cutting and the saw just wasn't doing what it should so I set it aside and used a Husky (I have 3 now.), back at the shop I discovered the plastic piece in the chain brake had broke and was causing drag on the clutch.

Today with the new muffler and tuned I really like the saw, third best behind my Echo CS 400 and the husky 162 SE.

But if I were going to go out and buy a new 50 to 60CC saw today it would be a Echo 590 timber wolf. A friend has one I have used and it is a great running powerful saw.
that is what I like about my CS 400 it is lite and power full for a 40CC saw.

From what I've been told by a dealer is that, for now ,only about 4 models in the pro series will still be produced and sold under the Redmax brand.Who knows what may be finally worked out.
Tractor Supply is moving away from Jonsered and will sell Husqvarna.
