I didn't think it was gonna get too cold last night. 33F at 11:30 when I went to bed, 17F when I woke up. Thankfully the house stayed warm enough on the overnight since I didn't reload, and actually opened a window in my bedroom.

Weather place says we went down to 6 last night. Lots of coals in the stove this AM, with an IAT of 70 and an OAT of 21 at 7:30.
Pulled the coals, then added one small pine 1X cutoff from the shop, then another about an hour later and the IAT went up to 75.
I think I'll go cut up some more of those scraps and bring 'em in for these warmer temps we'll be having. Shop gets a little cleaner and I don't have to use the real firewood.
    Win, win.

That's because lots of places still don't have NG, eh? Dave, I'm really looking forward to some warmer temperatures.

OAT is 24; inside is 78. Wife just cleaned out the ashes so I helped out and got a new fire started (I can get it started quicker and easier than she can!). Yes, she is standing right beside me now and she also stuck out her tongue... :p

Currently enjoying -14 C feels -22 C, or 7 F feels -7 F. Poplar in the reactor. Face of stove was 340 and the side was still 300 after 6 1/2 hours, with ample coals for easy fire up. If you've seen an Englander 17, this is miracle territory with poplar.

Don't know what the temps are here, but they've gotta be in the 20's! Very mild overcast day with an occasional short-lived snowfall. The walk I went on was very nice!
