Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between the "southern Winter driving" videos.................and the southern "hold my beer and watch this" videos!!!!!!!!!
This is in north central NC. I measured 11 inches last night and it was still coming down. Not sure what the record is in this part of the state, but it's got to be close. I've never seen this much at once, but we've only been here 4 years.
We got about 8-10" yesterday and that was on top of the couple inches we got over the weekend. 7° here this morning. We are actually a bit above what I would consider "normal" snowfall for the area. We usually get hammered with the bigger storms (18" - 24" or more) in February and March. Might be time to finally put the chains on the tractor.
they called for a "dusting" and we got 4-6 which is typical. The Appalachian wedge here at the Blue Ridge Mountains gives them a fit and makes it hard to forecast.
Some mighty big changes would come fast here if our house temperature was 56. I like that outside, but not inside. Keep the home fires burning!
We only got about 4 1/2" here in Nash County, NC. A lot of fell early while the temps were still 36-37 and didn't start sticking until about 4pm. Once the temps started to drop around 2pm it nose dived to about 16° here last night. A lot of ice on the back roads this morning. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
We only got, at most, 3" in my part of Madison. Think there was more east of us, maybe round Boone, etc. (That's a Yankee 3". Neighbors on the branch would probably call it 4-6".)
I like it every now and again. We got 20” in 2012 in dec 23rd. Was great. I like it to get out quick. Tomorrow is 52 and sat and sun in the 60’s. That will get the job done.
