Well, that was too easy - I Googled "spring clip for snow blower chute" and the first 2 links are for the Ariens spring clip that fits my SnoTek (according to the fitment chart. You know what that tells me? That those things don't really stay on that well and people need them all the time. I mean seriously, if those things stayed where they are supposed to, what are the odds that a generic search (without mfg name) would turn up exactly what I need in the first two links?

At least they are cheap at just under $3 so I'll order several. I haven't ordered yet so I'll probably get sticker shock for the shipping costs.

$6.15 for shipping for 1. Shipping cost did not go up adding in multiples so I ordered 4. That means once I get one installed, I will never, ever lose another one again.

    Great job B !!

Stop at a local hardware store like Aubuchaun or Ace and I am sure you will find either the same thing or similar. You might be able to find a better solution that wont fall off easily.

Bogie I wouldn't even mess with another clip, put the proper size cotter pin in it and done.

Keep em handy (like with the shear pins) as it sounds like they fall off easily or they wouldnt be so easy to find on the net.

I broke a shear bolt last night and down to 2 left. Have to stop by Aubuchaun and get some more at 40 percent the cost that Honda charges for the same thing.

Nice Macguyver'ing there B. I'd leave it in - it ain't broke no more.

Happy mid-January FHC peeps & fellow Pelletheads: got our Dec. '17 electric bill, OUCH.

    4 Benjamin's. :faint:

Electric radiator heater in the Porch room that ran pretty much continuous for 3 weeks, (3) warm mist humidifiers, electric floor (space) heater in the living room, (2) more ran 'on demand' in the bedrooms during awake hours, ceiling paddle fan, pellet stove... and a Partridge in a Pear Tree. :picard:

It's about $175+ vs. normal. But nothing froze up, the ladies were reasonably warm / I didn't get the frying pan treatment - so it's all good... A wake-up call on why the 2nd stove needs to go in, though.

Busy week w/ IT projects & such, but getting those register dampers installed,
and the pellet stove back outside to the wood shed for an extended test run are a priority though.

    Big time.

Hope everyone is having a fun week, and staying warm.

:faint:. That is just unimaginable to me. My electric bill is never over $100 - and that is with both stoves going, humidifier (one room only) and my clothes dryer.

Lowes has a good assortment of clips too. Even with tax, probably cheaper to find & buy that kind of thing locally.

Just had my biggest bill since moving here 4 yrs ago....$125. New electric mattress heater (I don't care....that thing is AWESOME!), Christmas lights, plus I was home a lot for "staycation", heating system running more, etc.

I suppose I shouldn't go ballistic if my bill exceeds $60.00 huh?

I wish.. But with all (3) ladies home / the house occupied "24x7" for most of Dec. '17 ... It is what it is.

I'm sure my contribution alone to that bill, was in excess of a Benjamin. We had the faucets trickling / well pump running for weeks, to prevent pipe freeze. Keeping the Porch Room / workshop above freezing was also a personal priority.. Hundreds of $$$ worth of paint/fluids/etc. on the shelves out there. Sigh.

Looking forward to the above-freezing temps. this weekend here to get the pellet stove outside & tested.

I had the central A/C installed last spring, eliminating the need for the 3 window units I had.....my elect. bill actually went down. 14 SEER efficient unit.
