My dad and I took a trip over to his property this morning to do a little brush burning (really just had to GTFO out of the house for a little bit) in the single digit temps, and got a chance to assess the next couple seasons’ firewood:

    Very nice assessment.

Wish I had a burn pile to tend to.

I live in the South, and thus far I have burned over a cord, which is well above average for me.

I burned almost 4 cord already.... I am a rookie burner though. Since October I was loading the stove up like it was an OWB. Big mistake. First cord I burned was paper dry maple and oak (biggest oak pieces were stashed away for sub zero all nighters) , and next 3 cords were partially seasoned ash and maple. Just bought another cord of good dry oak, and am going to mix in maple that is still mostly green to get me through the season. I have a lot of scrounging to do in 2018.
