Steve and billb3 those laws are pure baloney all the way. It is terrible when someone owns some land and can't do anything to it. Of course there are times this can be good, like if someone wanted to damm a river or stream or even damaging river banks or something similar because that will affect others. But to just say that is wetlands and you can't even take out a dead tree... Then to add insult and give permits to large scale things like apartments, that is wrong.

We have some rules about not harvesting timber within so close to a neighbor. Which means you are subsidizing the property value od a stranger, who wants to look at your trees. On guy I know has thirty acres, and due tothe layout, none of it can be harvested. Bear in mind youare not legally forbidden to do all kinds of vile things that the neighbor would have within eyesight, but don't harvest. Funny thing is, I think you could cut them down and let them rot, or make firewood.

Legislature is pretty good at smacking down this type od local ordinance as well as anti gun range ordinances.

These rules must be a northern thing...we don't have these problems in the South. Less taxes, less government intrusion, more happy people. Unfortunately you have too many people up there that love voting for big government.

We don't have rules like this here. I'm in the north, but north central.

Same here in NH, we were the winner for the "Free State Project" folks looking for a state to live in free from tyranny. Our neighbor to the south, well, not even close to our freedoms here.

Horkn We are in the north central part of the country but we are also in fly-over country. People on the coasts just don't get it:headbang:

Well I'm not far from the coast here, but I can shoot in my yard if I want. And anything else I want to do, short of a crime.

Without going down the political rabbit hole, this is what happens when you start crowding too many people into too many ticky tacky little houses. If you own unbuildable land the do-gooders want it to co-exist with nature and preserve some of what's left. You become a target mostly because you're all that's left.

I have my own little patch of happiness. And another one, in the north country. Where nothing matters, the outside world doesn't exist there.
