well, the igniter swap was successful, as the stove fired right up after replacement and a thorough cleaning. odd, because both elements OHM'd out to around 55 OHMS on my analog meter. but the new one works, and the old was giving trouble.

it probably will not need to start up again for quite some time, given the weather, but that's OK.

Grandson Landon is coming for a sleepover, so i'll have my helper to fill the pellet stove tonight.

55 this morning. 25 now. Dropping fast, predicting single digit temps by morning. Oh well, the brief warm up was fun while it lasted. Snow’s gone and at least it’s not going to be a frigid cold snap like the last couple weeks.

Day started in the -26*C and some java. Went downstairs and vacuumed 4 bags of Elite. Started a load of laundry and went for a shower, about to step in the shower and chit load of crap came out the tap. Ahhhh! The shower stopped into a dribble. WTF going on here. Rushed downstairs to stop the washing machine. Dismantled the shower valve to clean it and also did the washer screen. Bottom flush the hot water tank and it wasn't that bad. I've been running the HWT without the anode because it would stench of sulphur and do frequent bottom flushes. F..it, went to HD for a 20% competitor price match and came home with a new HWT and a skid of Lacrete's. Made it back in time for the football game. Extreme cold weather again tonight so more of that heading your way:D

Like others, I too have water issues. I woke up this morning to the sound of my sump pump screaming because it had lost suction. Threw on some clothes and headed down to a very wet basement. It appears the pump never started and overflowed the sump, then after flooding the basement decided to run. So one of the boards that cover the sump went down into it as it pumped down and prevented the float from going low enough to shut off the pump. Spent the day vacuuming water. The $49 12-gal shop vac I bought right after black Friday is worth every penny I spent. That thing make clean up very easy.

I have a lot of experience with sump pumps.Ive had many over the years but there was one that lasted 32 years for me and is probably still going strong. It was a DVP cellar drainer.Best pump ever.I don't even know how old it was when I moved in to that house. We had two sumps and I was always replacing the other one.I could never find another DVP.

Been busy, just took me quite some time to catch up on everything!lol.Weather -20 to 40,rain,sleet,hail,and snow. Then warmed up again, snow compacted, and hydrated off(nice),then rain turned to snow, plowed a lot today, some for money, wet, heavy crap, kinda like back east snow plowing.Almost have another meyer plow pump rebuilt, coils on order, this one I will loan to neighbors when they have an issue with their pump,so I do not hav eto take the chance of breaking my plow, helping them out,as I make income with mine.10 to 45 mph winds, contractor has asked me to make sure the road to their house is open tomorrow,as they as now working weekends. What a day, time for a beer.

OK,after catching up on previous posts, yes,I have put bearings in several types of combustion blowers. Can be time consuming, and you have to be careful, the bearings are very sensitive.Never did one of your types, sorry. Also, just because someone else said it is better because it is "hi amp" is not true, usually just means it is an old style design,as,over the years, motor technology has/is getting better.Doing the same job with less power is what it is all about. Also,if you ever run across an old "jakel" exhaust motor, bearings replace easily, and, good windings, they just start slow, but last many years, they were factory for Harmans for years.

Water in the basement?LOL,My little cabin, backed up against the side of a mountain, has a dirt floor basement, poor footers,no drainage(I did not build any of this),back underground wood walls,I had stripped and put in concrete.freezers, washer and dryer sit up on platforms, several layers of gravel, big sump pump in corner, dehumidifier usually runs 8 months of the year.I hate it,but is what I have.

Snow on roof?My roof you can park several trucks on,but, neighbors cabin, just above my house, this warm/cold crap, snow slid off and snapped off his/hers septic vent,A frame log cabin, snapped the pipe off inside the house! He bought taller ladder(instead of borrowing mine),found out still has 4 foot wide thick ice on his roof, cannot get up there, asked me today what to do,as snow coming in tomorrow night,I told him spray foam from inside.Funny thing is,as he has a huge wood stove, with the intermittent sun, last 2 days,he could have sent wife away for a bit, cranked that thing up,and make everything slide off.

Blood pressure, this always has me worried,I got put on 2 different meds,(lisonopril and something),and a potassium supplement, for years. They kept adjusting them, everytime I went in.Even had me have xtra visits.I have records that show I have had very high blood pressure, since I was 13 years old.The older doctors(60's and 70's) did not see it as a problem,as people are different.Even bought a high dollar machine for home testing.Found out(was still a mechanic)the meds they had me on would make me lethargic in the afternoons,to the point I did not want to do anything, and made me very argumentative.Cost me my last mechanics job. After being fired, having no health insurance, have not taken the meds for some yearsBUT I also am/have not done a high stress job as a flat rate mechanic.I still check my pressure,is still higher than most, but not bad by my history, and I do not falter/collapse in the afternoons.OK done ranting, but,I would never trust a younger doctor.

:hair: I took a small dose of that for 4 months for one of my heart chambers. Never again. The extreme drowsiness ontop of existing fatigue took me out for that entire 4 months time.
