Good morning, yesterday's ice/snow combo wasn't too bad, short power failure and the hassles of thawing out vehicles.
A cool 10 degrees and the Ol' Cherokee is thawed out in the garage waiting for me to drive him to the workhouse.
    Hoping the roads are clear.
    Be safe out there.

We finally got some rain here so I was able to get some trigger time in.

Good thing too being its been more than a month since I ran a saw I was starting to get itchy. It's been too dry to safely cut any wood, with the risk of starting a fire.

Then I got out my new Kamado for its maiden voyage/smoke/cook.
It was my first ever attempt at smoking, it went well but my timing was a bit off, need to start earlier next time.

    Hmm juicy smokey awesomeness.

Trying to figure what I can do today while the temps are mild. Wanted to rebuild my plow pump, but the parts I ordered a week ago ust shipped yesterday. The snow events in the 7 day forecast, so I can't even start on it.

Maybe I'll break put the sledge and bust up some oak cradles that are outside, then get em in the boiler room to dry.

It's 1° outside. I want to go out and cut some wood before this afternoon, but it's gotta warm up a little bit more.

How much snow do you have? Or how much snow did you get overnight?

We've got no snow here. That nearly 60° day on what Wednesday? melted it all.

I ended up breaking up about 8 cradles and cutting them to length. Left em in a pile in the driveway which my wife is gonna LOVE! Ill bring em inside tomorow after they have time to hopefully dry out a bit. They were pretty wet from the rain.

I can chop wood for hours without bothering my back, but swinging the axe to the side like this really sets it off. I'll have to medicate a bit before the ae tonight.

We had two days near 60*, and our snow is gone off the lawn. Very strange for January.

The flex connector on my truck exhaust just about let go near the cat end and was getting a little loud. We had low 50's this morning and I had to run a few errands. By the time I got started the wind shifted from the northwest, and the temps dropped to the low 40's.

I only have ramps to get under the truck, but I was able to cut out the old flex. PITA trying to get a sawzall and angle grinder under there. I had to clamp the new flex on the front end. The back end near the cat was butted up pretty square and welded. The old flex was welded kind of close to the cat body and there is a hanger right in the way. The wind made it difficult, but the welds held and I'm back in action.

I started the stove and we are watching the Patriots and eating grub. Maybe back to my regular weekend plans tomorrow and ice fishing Monday.

I notice the sun setting close to 4:30 now.

Back from the bar with our friends. Oh boy does that bar need a wood stove. 2° cold a$$ air flying in the door every time anyone opened it.
