Many folks, looking to save money, are pretty itinerant about where they buy their oil. They shop when they need it, find the lowest price, and buy some. It seems to work for them pretty well.....until it gets cold and they forget to check their oil. Then they need it immediately.....and its a problem, because most likely the company is already swamped. Some oil companies use artificially lower margins in the summer....so, if folks check, they look good then....sell relatively little oil at that time of year, so its a cheap thing to do. Then, when winter comes, they end up being some of the highest prices around.
Agreed....the oil company can ask whatever they want, especially if you require credit. Of course, you dont have to give it to them......just find an oil company who doesnt require it!

I pay $20/month for unlimited washes with bottom wash. I wash my truck every sunny day in the winter unless the temp is in single numbers or lower. I figure spending $240/year is cheap insurance for keeping rust free, if it works.

Dreadful day at work as in maybe a career ender with the company I work with , cant take all the blame but major F*up and in the end I am the one who will take it all .

Wicked warm today and almost all the snow is gone have not seen a melt down like this last two days in some time.

Had a funny experience (not at the time) earlier this week which I will share here as some of you will appreciate it . Earlier this week Tuesday I believe I came home from work and noticed the stove was not producing much of a flame so I was like Wtf is going on ? So i shut it off and started some exploratory work basically ripping the stove apart and when I fired it back up same thing, by that time it was late and I had had enough and flipped on the thermostat for the dino burner begrudgingly and went to bed. By 8:00 am 3 1/2 hours after arriving at work it was driving me crazy so I called the shop where I bought the stove (P68) no one answered so I left my number and explanation of what was happening. The gentlemen called me an hour later and we discussed what I had done the night before along with the generic solutions including did you empty all the pellets and I had to respond no I did not , which I had not in my rant the night before.
So I told people at work I was going to be leaving at noon to get my stove to the shop as it was my primary source of heat boss was ok with it. Got home emptied the pellets in the hopper as I was prepared to haul the 290 lb stove up to NH and as I almost got to the bottom what did I find a pair of my reading glasses DOH what a spaz could not believe it. But the upside is it is working as it was the week after I brought it home with me tearing it apart even more so than i do every week. I was buggin out knowing the cold snap was coming back and I had a few days to get this thing back running as as i need it to .
Thats my story and I am sticking to it !

Meh, I am not shopping for lowest price for HHO, just looking to change from a company that I have been faithful to for many years but they treated some long time customers in a way that I see as heartless. Its business, I get it but they have grown too big now, have lost their roots and have lost the human side of the business.

I value customer service with a smaller local company and will pay a bit more for it. When I have that, I stay with them. When their values change, so does my loyalty and I move on. Now is not the time to shop for another company, but it will be come spring.

Too bad that small local oil company feels the need to invade my credit rating and wont just take my credit card. Last time I checked my rating was 824 and I didnt get such a high rating by giving out my SSN to anyone and everyone that asks for it.

Dang Luney, that sux about the job. It takes a good employee to take the brunt of a screw up that is under their responsibility. I might think that the company would recognize that. Bottom line is that sometime chit happens....to everyone and to every company sooner or later.

    Regarding the stove

IHP and G thanks appreciate it truly . See what happens unfortunately have to work tomorrow to try to rectify it but heh is what it is 6 years with this company and the first major FU I mean heck whats 60 K to amongst friends ..... Heck part of the reason is two of my assistants was on the job they just finished (at Harvard as well only half the size) as they had some serious freeze problems, major floods and that one is going to cost the company an easy Million.

thanks again and yes the stove is operating as it should be !

Luney, similar thing happened with my P68 a couple seasons ago. Low flame, little heat. Emptied the hopper and what did I find? I piece of cardboard obstructing the pellets getting to the slide plate! Where did that piece of cardboard come from? A damaged and heavily taped partial bag of pellets I bought on discount at TSC. Think when they tried to salvage the bag and sweep some pellets back in, the got a bit of extra "stuff" in there with it. I like your story about the reading glasses better though.

Sorry to hear about what happened at your job, I hope it all gets smoothed over in the end.
