My roof dumped everything yesterday so I had to shovel the driveway. Sanded the ice to the tent garage before putting the truck in there. The only place I'll see bare ground before the cold weather hits is pathways I've snow blown. However, some of those pathways got buried by roof dumpage (the pack got a lot of momentum so flung out further than usual). I'm not going to worry about that
It's a lot of work, but it's nice to have it off the roof so we can start fresh. I'm going to try to clear the storm drain on the street this morning, rain is supposed to hold off until 9 here.
Mornin' Hoarders............44 and pounding down rain here this a.m.. Rain took out most of the snow we had between yesterday and this morning. Radar showing the "WALL OF WINTER" headed this way from the NW. Flash freeze is about 2-3 hours away and then cold, cold, cold after that. Kitchen install went awesome yesterday. Just have to do the plumbing hook-ups this morning and I believe we are good to go. The Boss is HAPPY,HAPPY,.........HAPPY,.......and we all know, "Happy Wife - Happy Life"............ Everyone have a great day and stay safe with the pending freeze coming.
Good morning, 32 with rain/sleet something or another,,it's dark and I wasn't curious enough to stick my numbskull outside...the dogs didn't last 3 minutes out of doors. School is cancelled, this rain/sleet/freezing rain/snow is gonna' last thru the nite, temps will fall to 10 degrees, just in time for my long weekend at the workhouse. You folks be safe.
You folks in Ohio have about a quarter inch of sleet headed your way. If you can, get that chit up as soon as it falls, and get some ice melt down on it before the transition to snow. Everyone be safe today!
Glad you had a great successful (alleged) kitchen remodel. You know the rules, here Rotti! Did you think you get a pass on this one??????
Left early yesterday morning for my weekly windshield time and had about 1/2 hour with lower speeds due to icy conditions. After that, clear sailing! Now the way return trip was a complete different story. Snow had moved is as predicted and the plows couldn't keep up with it and in some places the plows were just not out. The old Corolla pulled through once again; traffic was light but the return trip was 1/2 again as long. And of course, the speeds varied from 20 mph to 55 mph conditions dependent. It was nice to get home right about dusk! The temps dropped 20 degrees in less than 2 hours during the drive home. The drive took 3 hours.
$30 per hour, I stay home and play with the dog. I know exactly what you are saying, I bid a job and was told I was to high, they had another contractor come in and do it. They then called me to come and fix his mess, I politely told them if you could not afford me to do the job you surely can not afford for me to fix his screw up.
ironpony and bocefus78 I understand what your saying but coming from a guy that used to do it himself and then without my hip having to hire people. Finding a good contractor is a full time job in itself. I've had three come up here to fix a small leak around a chimney in my roof. All reputable companies, none honored warranty when leak reappeared in 6 months. Last guy said 400 dollars and showed up with geosil I said no. If he had showed up with lead and tore 2 feet around chimney re flashed and said 800. He would have had job.
Right at freezing this morning but no stars showing on our walk. Last day of work this week. It has been a frustrating work week dealing with software problems. The joys of software updates are endless. Everyone have a good weekend.
Mornin, I think. Wee bit of a hangover from entertaining clients last night in Portland ME. Im too old to be bar hopping until 2am. Just got home, almost 60 here. The roads in my neighborhood are finally black again, same with my driveway, but man is the ice slick!
Well, it was nice seeing the ground again but now we wonder how long before we'll see it again. It's all white now, once again. Really happy for that warm spell though as it got rid of the ice on the roof.
