I was a cat hater for the first 53 years of life until my first cat, Colonel, came to me. I now have 4. Colonel: Colonel has passed and is greatly missed. Onyx: I tripped over Onyx when leaving for work on a cold December night. When Colonel passed I went to the shelter and started visiting the cats. I choose Tippy Toes I had to wait until Tippy was de-sexed before I could bring her home. I took my wife to the shelter to show her my new kitty. My wife liked the one in the cage beside Tippy and wanted to adopt her. Must have been my lucky day. I can have 3. We adopted Smokey. In November of this year Cinnamon Girl ran in the door. She now has a home. I said 2 was enough. Then it was 3. Four is absolutely enough.
Good on you. Pretty much been a cat hater all of my life! Now don't get me wrong, I like them, just not for me! (sound familiar? )
So you want to see my p....ahhh....errr, cats huh? OK, these are our outdoor cats Tom and Tigger, Tom is the gray one...he likes attention...any and all attention is good attention...I've literally tried to pet him so long and hard he would get mad and leave...nope, has never happened!
Really got creative with the name selection there Midwinter. We did the same, but one of ours is MISS Kitty. Found her in the driveway a couple years ago as a kitten.
Creative? Wasn't there a movie years ago where a cat's name was Cat. I am thinking it was John Wayne in True Grit. He walked into the Chinaman's place and the cat's name was Cat. 30 some years ago I did have a dog named Dog.
My first two were- Cat and Kitten, a brother /sister team. They were pretty badazz hunters. Yes, I was 7 when they were named. Current beasts are Shawnee- runt cat and snuggler, Tyler- rescue, very affectionate , learning how to kill. Torrance- semi-outdoor cat, has made a kill, and then........Mary-Jo. Hunter/killer/teacher cat. She fought off a fox and lived to tell the tale. Also a total butthead, but affectionate when she wants to be. I rank them by mouse kills, she rocks!
We have two. A brother and sister from the pound. The first one we got which we thought was a boy we named Jack. Jack turned out to be a Jackie. The vet told us we could take her back. For real? Who would do that? She's an indoor/outdoor car. The huntress. She is a doll. Toby is her brother that we picked up a month later. He was the last of the liter. A great deal bigger than his sister. Though very skittish. Once he warms up to you he is a love muffin. He is a bully to our Havanese, Tucker.. Which I would not doubt was about to happen in this picture. This pic is a couple years old. Tucker avoids Toby. Though Toby is bullied by Piper our other dog. Which I guess all works out in the wash.
Cat's name in true grit is "General Sterling Price". He also had a dog named "dog" in the movie Big Jake.
It's not that I don't like them, but very allergic to them. Eyes swell up and have a hard time breathing.
General Sterling Price looks like Colonel It was the dog named "dog" I must of been thinking of. Right actor wrong movie.
