    Looks like all poplar to me. Rough pieces at the trunk, smooth pieces from further up.

    Thats not tulip poplar... Tulip bark is more grey, and the center heart wood is dark when cut. I have tons of it.

    Im sticking with Maple. All silver maple.

    I’m thinking either tulip or cottonwood variety. That being said... this is an oak I’ve got out back I like to climb in once in a while 073A2EE6-147F-4505-BF5C-311B4954CE50.jpeg I’m thinking a red variety, just as a comparison to the OP smooth bark stuff in the pile.

    Thanks guys, I know the smaller pieces are maple. I should have specified. I have not got a chance to split it yet. I hope it's not elm....

    Red Oak variant (red, scarlet, pin, black). All of it. Fresh cut or split will reveal the color again.
