Wow. Right now it is really coming down. You can see about 75-100 yards out. That's it. I was not expecting this.
Same here Gasifier, it's been snowing since we came back from Potsdam but it's picked up pretty good here in the last hour.
The rain made it real sloppy out, maybe with the cold it will firm the trails up some. If we have another week left for sledding that's fine, I'm ready for Rhino season. It's time we start cutting.
Down to 7° on the back porch with some wind this morning. The boiler went through a load of Ash last night. This morning I just loaded a 50/50 load of Ash and some knotty/knarly Cherry.
Down to 33 this morning, got some Honey Locust and Hedge rolling. Had to go to the inside wood, the rest of the wood got wet from the rain blowing sideways lastnight.
We had 4 degrees on the R.S.S., I don't think we had the realfeel they forecast, burned a nice load of Beech last night, nothing going at the moment but plan to have a load of Cherry going by 9:30 a.m. I just saw the temps for tonight, -16 with a realfeel of -14, chit it will feel warmer, what a break.
28 and windy real feel of 8 and it feels like it out. Went to our friends house for dinner after church and then went for a walk in the woods we have been cleaning up that was logged. Lots of good stuff yet but if it doesn't come out this year most will be done. Got to get busy. Just put some elm it the Buck.
We're looking at -18 tonight so we'll go with the Sugar Maple or Beech tonight, I think the pellet stove will get set on 78 tonight.
Vacation in Florida. Its about 80 out right now. Back home is ~25° and unfortunately the #2 oil will be burning if it gets below 50° in the house.
Yikes. Any records broke for those dates and places? Right at -1 on the back porch this morning. Only two more days till spring! Burning through some Ash and a little Cherry and Pine.
I think that both Saranac Lake and Lake Placid both set records yesterday morning. https://www.adirondackdailyenterpri...4/Record-setting-cold-overnight.html?nav=5008 We were just above zero this morning, by the time the coffee was done it was four degrees. We have another 3-6 inches forecast for our area for late Friday/Saturday morning, we'll have some rain mixed in with that too. Another week of sledding.
