We have a regular temp of -8 with both stoves going in the basement (81 degrees) with the temp up here at 70.
-4 right now heading toward -12 (same as last night). Ash in the 30 at the moment. Oak on tap for later, with the furnace on standby. Supposed to hit 6 tomorrow, and 26 on Sunday. Ahhhh
Currently -12 right now with a FIERCE NW wind. Supposed to drop to -24 by morning with a WC of -42. Got both the 30 and Lil' Brother humming right along on 3 y/o Oak and the cave is a even 73. Can't wait for Monday when this is supposed to break.............
I got the cave warmed up to 69 today with the aid of the kicker stove and a well placed box fan. Still holding at 68. Ended up re-gluing some oak chairs.
Looks like the weather will break for a bit next week here starting on sunday (today it was -7F in the am). I have a feeling that this winter still has plenty of bite left in it.
It's -9 heading down to -18, we have some Sugar Maple and Oak going in the Liberty. The Pellet Stove was shut down before 8 pm when the basement temp hit the mid 80's, the temp up here is 70.
We ended up with a regular temp of -14 this morning with windchills at or around -35. Tonight NOAA is calling for a regular temp of -24 with windchills of -37. Today A 40 percent chance of snow showers, mainly before 3pm. Mostly cloudy and cold, with a high near -7. Wind chill values as low as -34. West wind 10 to 13 mph. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. Tonight Mostly clear, with a low around -24. Wind chill values as low as -37. West wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Sunday A 30 percent chance of snow showers, mainly after 5pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 17. Wind chill values as low as -37. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Miserable enough with the below zero, but when you factor in the wind..... Hope you can go a few days without having to work outside.
I'm hoping that tomorrow in the afternoon I can start the tractor and plow the driveway. The snow we did get wasn't the heavy chit so the driveway is fine or I'd be out on the tractor today. The battery tender has been on the tractor battery since this cold snap came in along with block heater (is that what you call them ) has been plugged in around the clock so it should start.
On my brother's tractor, he plugs it in on the morning of the day he wishes to use it. He doesn't use it near as much as you use yours. Tomorrow will be in the 20's and then three days in (or close to) the 30's. So yes, you'll have some warm weather coming your way, but only when I'm done with it!! Outside work for tomorrow will be removing the Christmas lights/decorations. Should be nice.
Lets hope this forecast for next Friday night changes, we don't need the ice. Max UV Index: N/A Thunderstorms: 0% Precipitation: 0.87 in Rain: 0 in Snow: 0 in Ice: 0.87 in Hours of Precipitation: 7 hrs Hours of Rain: 0 hrs
It's been a very cold stretch that's for sure, I saw an updated wind chill map that has us at - 46 but when I go to post it the thing reverts back to this mornings map. Since it's been so cold for a long period of time, we've use the propane fireplace, the oil furnace, wood and the pellet stove.
