It's power plate in southern Minnesota but I thought it be good Conversation Piece. I'm only about 150 miles north of it.. It's a real IR. -1f still burning slabs. Heat550 Sent from my LG-H900 using Tapatalk
Currently 9F, wind is blowing HARD at times. I have a load of black locust chugging away in the AS. Every time the wind blows hard the stove starts creaking from heat expansion.
. Burning black locust too. MikeInMa gave me some, I got some from neighbors who gave up wood burning, and I found some at the dump. I'm going to be scouring the dump for more this summer!
Never cleared -1 today. Headed for a predicted -17 but we've hit -20 the last 2 nights. Will be the last below zero except one night for the next 10 days! Should give the stove and wood piles a little reprieve. With highs in the upper 20s+ I just let the stove sit idle while at work and let the sun do its duty and let the furnace recover the temps in the evening until the night reload.
We hit around 48* today with very little wind. It was a great day. Warmed the house up this morning with pine and cottonwood. Have not started my second fire for the day yet since the house is still warm from this morning.
Loaded up the OWB with a mix of Red Oak, Hard Maple and a round of Black Birch -2*F and windy they are calling for -15* by morning will have to put more wood on in the morning. The house is at a comfortable 72*F. It will be nice when this cold snap breaks.
It's a bit warmer down here. Inside 77*F, outside 103*F and still climbing, humidity at a scary 10% and winds 37Mph. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
