Firewood I have been burning this year is out of a south facing shed, first time I have pulled wood out of here. Apparently, it is perfect habitat for overwintering stink bugs as I have to examine every split and block (from local pallet mill) and knock off sometimes dozens of the stinking little b@!*^% before putting wood in wheelbarrow to take to front porch. Never had this problem before from my single rank stash. Only reward is I get to smash the pile of little bodies after knocking them off! DSC03348.JPG

No, don't smash them! Put them into some soapy water.

Yes, that stinky. But put in soapy water and it kills, with no stink.

They winter in my wood stacks. All winter long they randomly appear on our tv at night lol.

I think they get behind the bark, because I rarely see them. On the rare occassion i find them or other bugs like wood roaches, they just become added mass to the stove. They live for about 0.000001 seconds until they pop lol

We have the same problem... stinkbugs everywhere...in my wood pile, in my shop, they even get in our house. It's because of stinkbugs we quit bringing any wood inside except to immediately put on the fire.

Never even seen a stink bug until we moved to our new house. Only moved 5 miles but they are atound here. I think they smell like cilantro when smashed. The wife disagrees.
