It got us pretty good in SJ. Anywhere from 8-16" depending on where you're at but the drifting is bad. Spent most of the day at work just plowing drifts. Called it quits for now and headed back to finish in the am.

I'm in the 16" area of NJ. Shoveled the driveway 3xs today.

I gotta say my town did a very nice job with plowing the streets. There were guys up and down my street all day pushing the stuff and another smaller truck just came down a few mins ago.

Time for the final cleanup this morning. Just gotta dig the car out, then hit the paths with the snowblower.

I'm getting tired of how the media is hyping the crap out of these storms. It's winter in New England for Christ's sake.....act like you've been here before.

I was surprised that they all were conservative on the snow totals though.

The media and winter storms..... I swear they want to either scare the public to death so they go and shop for food as if the world is ending.

On that same note, school closings are ridiculous these days - and I'm talking within the last decade. They are teaching kids that if it's even the least bit inclement outside that you stay home and do nothing.

I work outside and the worse it is, the more we have to do to keep our gas plant running!

Surely can't disagree with that! Our media is going nuts for sure.

    Made out alright here.
Rained in the morning then switched to snow.
Got a slushy mess on the bottom and about 8 inches of snow on top of that.
Lots of broken branches and heavy snow clung to trees.
I guess it shouldn't be surprising that the power kept going on and off and on and off and off and on and off and off and on and off and off and on and off and off and on and off all night. After about the 2nd or third and off and on and off I unplugged just about everything that had a start-up routine ( like the laser printer ). and off and on and off is probably better than just off and off and off and off and off ... :)
Off to test my new snow shoes.
