No pics yet, but wow, 18" is a good storm. Not much wind here, more coastal. We are watching the storm watch on TV. Lots of coastal communities have water over their seawalls. Parts of Boston have flooded streets with evacuations of people out of the area. The coast is being battered, but high tide has passed. Plum Island in Newbury/Newburyport has a flooded access road onto the island.

One report south of Boston is that waves smashed the windows out of an oceanfront home and the National Guard has an amphibious vehicle rescuing the occupants. Other reports of rocks being thrown over seawalls. Serious business on the coast.

I'm on the Delaware bay side and about 16ft above sea level. The ocean side is where they get the water, If I get water here, most of Southern NJ will be under. The downfall here is I get the cold NW slamming wind off the bay all winter. :shiver:

Luckily this storm is moving fast. Winds are still driving in moisture off the ocean. Once out to sea, the cold on the backside will get pulled in. Classic Nor'easter. Single digits the next few days.

Just over 12" here and powder dry. Supposed to hover around 0* this weekend, but we should not have to worry about ice like the last storm. Most schools are closed tomorrow. -20* windchill in the morning.

    Forecasts show 40's next week.

Road crews did a great job. Down to bare pavement for main roads and highways. Cold is moving in with the wind.

Drifting snow is a problem right now filling in cleared areas. Where it settles is fine and densely packed. At least snow weight on roofs should not be an issue in this area.

Hope everyone is well. We got about 16" to 18" although there is no "official" tally yet, a town within 12 miles of us according to the news got 18.7" so it's fair to say were in there some where. Our streets are a mess, we don't have the snow removal trucks and such like some of the New England area's , we just don't usually get it like this.

Oh well, time to sit back and watch the crazy people try to get to the store and loose their marbles! :hair::loco: :wacky:

A few pictures today in my travels. More of a good snowstorm without tree damage and power failures. Drifting snow and high snowbanks is the nuisance now.

We will have some above 30 temps next week once we get past this arctic blast.

Northern Maine near Houlton: We got about 18-20" of snow, with 25 mph sustained winds, with 35-40 mph peak gusts. It did warm up nicely from the -5-5 F daytime highs we've been having (to 29 F last night) but going back into the deep freeze right away again tonight. Supposed to be -35 F wind chills tomorrow morning.

lots and lots of ten seconds outages often every five minutes or less, like a little kid playing with a light switch for the first time. Longest it was out was about an hour and a half. 3:30 to 5 PM or so.

Some more from down here. The wind was intense, it stayed 30 to 40 mph all day yesterday. I cleaned my neighbors drive out on the first pic and that's about the full snow fall we got. I had a flat spot in my yard I measured was a little over 15"
