When your carrying 60 gallons on board for a 5 day weekend. You have to be pretty conservative The new rig has a 110 gallon fresh water tank. Haven't ran it out yet. Guess i need to start taking longer vacations till I find the limit. I'm going to suggest this to Mrs. TD tonight...
Good luck with that. Ours is like 85 gallon fresh water, have come close but never drained it. Usually the only time don't have hookups we are hunting, normally water isn't a big commodity at that time.
My 12 year old daughter would revolt girl takes a 45 minute shower and 4 hours later need a bath to relax!
Give it a couple years. Mine is going on 17, might decide to take a shower at 1 AM and again at 7 AM and 6PM.
Well 3 gallons is about my min limit on a shower. Got a 55 gallon barrel set up right now but with an Eccotemp propane water heater. Works great and doesn't use much propane at all. However for the house wood does apeel to me. We don't have a basement, is there any other way without a huge boiler or pots on the wood stove? Couldn't find a thread.
Oh dear that reminds of my own youthful self.. Your little princess needs a dose of reality. On the other hand reality will set in early enough when she gets older so go ahead and spoil her.
Midwinter needs to be able to scrounge at her wood dump. Of course, it's buried in snow at the moment.
I remember the first time I went to Birdsville in Queensland about 30 years ago the campground had coin operated showers. I remember we had $1 to go take a shower and you had to be quick. After 2 weeks in the desert even a 2 minute shower is a luxury. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah wait until an event happens that interrupts services for a while during the winter. If it were me, when they arrived at my house and asked to come in before they freeze to death I'd politely answer the door naked, sipping my hot toddy in my 72 degree house and just stare at them for awhile. No words, no sounds, just a blank stare that says, "I know...".
I've been tempted to do this. My 14yo will take a bath, then when the water starts cooling she opens the drain and turns the hot water back on at the same time. I think I've educated that out of her, but that is usually only temporary.
At my house; a family of (6) where I am the only guy here; long showers/baths are the standard operating procedure of the lady folk. The worst culprit is my wife, but I cannot say anything because as she says, "a woman has to shave". Well you guys saw the post regarding woman who do not shave...yuck. I know 99% of Maine Woman do not shave between Labor Day and Memorial Day, but I am proud to say that Katie is a 1%'er! So even though it means a 1 hour shower...I put up with it.
That very opportunity presented itself here a number of years ago. 99's son was dating a real piece of work...I have to dig deep to find redeeming qualities about her type of party girl. Came from a well off family with apparently free reigns approach to child rearing. Way too many things wrong in that picture...is probably well enough said. Anyhoo, after a few 45+ minute showers, someone went to the basement and started to slowly turn off the hot water! Amazing how quick the shower ended!
At my last place when there were teens home I installed a hot water line timer, it turned off the hot water after 12 minutes, but you still had cold water...takes money to heat water!!! We warned them and it did no good...so, had to go to plan B and it worked.
