So the fancy microchip cat door for the two wildcats out here has not worked out, its now an expensive cat door with a piece of duct tape over the locks to keep it open in both directions :picard: Neither cat likes or uses it, and it blows through batteries (of course the expensive lithium ones for the cold out here).

I'd like to bait them in and out a couple times so they get used to it, but that will attract the 2-4 other cats that tried to move in here. Worst is, one of those 4 sprayed inside the covered porch. Sorry, not acceptable. Any ideas to get just the two females that we got fixed to learn the door?

How about keep the door flap itself taped up open, so it's just a hole. If you can, enclose the cats so the flap hole is their only way out?

Cr123 lithium batteries? You need rechargeable ones. Get 2 sets so one is always charged. I got some tenergy brand ones from the Amazon and they are great. Beware the cheaper China ones. Explosion hazards.

Hi Dave, Ha, you caught the date! Nice pictures. The storm gives us something else to think about. All part of winter. Sometimes much more than we want, but here it is. Tomorrow is a new day and the clean up will have started if the deep freeze doesn't put a halt to it. I'm not so much concerned with the snow, (no Mainer really is). It is the wind that concerns me. We always get high winds here from the ocean storms. Knocks hell out of things. Still a lot of damage around from the Oct. wind storm. Ground is frozen and leaves are off the trees so should have less damage except for the trees that still have ice on them from the last storm. About everything around here is closed. Hopefully, folks will stay off the roads so rescue won't have to go out for them.

Same here Larry! I don't mind it at all, cold, snow, but the dam wind!!! Speaking of which a big branch broke off of a neighbors tree. I told him two years ago the tree was dead and he just grumbled and said yeah, yeah... Screw him! I hope he don't ask me to cut it up or take it down. He can do it with a butter knife now as far as I'm concerned. He's been miserable for years for what ever reason. Yeah, I caught the date. I'm still stuck in 2017 :loco: :picard: for now... I'll be posting more pics from here in another thread I started, I don't want to hijack any threads. You'll see it... :)

WeldrDave Tell Chris if she was back here she could be enjoying below zero temps with almost no snow, maybe 2 inches.
