Well, I’ve seen you NOT cut, split, & stack firewood before....but you laid your (plastic) wood pretty darn well.... Nice work
Why did you cut the casing legs so short? Looks very good. When you nail the base back on make sure to hit the studs, but you knew that already.
yes and with that trim I would use 2 1/2 inch nails. When you pull the nails out of the "old" trim use linesman pliers and pull them from the back, pulling the nail thru the trim, it won't chip the face. They should pull thru fairly easy, not much of a head on gun nails. I use the cutter part, pinch the nail and twist the pliers against the trim, rolling the nail out. It will take a few tries to get the feel so you do not cut the nail. Or you could use flush cut dykes and cut them off you are going to have to fill the holes anyway.
I use these, and pull thru like you're saying to do IP... The curved head provides a smooth levering action. Just apply enough pressure to "bite" the nail shank, but too much will cut the nail. I love my nippers!
Channel Locks will work too, but they sometimes slip. I'll sometimes go sideways with 'em on the stubborn nails. Not so gooder for hangnails though.
Those will work great on everything but the corner posts, I think I will have to cut those nails off with the Dremel. These nails are almost impossible to extract.
These are the brand of flush cutting snips I used for years in both trim work and transformer assembly...used them the other day on some nail removal. Xuron 2175A - Maxi-Shear Full Flush Cutter - Full Flush - 5.82"
Order a pair yet..... of Xuron’s? Had to specify that last bit, as I’m sure some may have thought I was implying you needed to bolster up.
