After hijacking/mucking up Ralphie Boy's thread, I decided to start my own 661 thread.

Other than the bar oil I ultimately want to run, I think I have everything I need to do a first run. I went ahead and ordered some biodegradable Motion Lotion because I couldn't find anything else loke this around here. I plan on sourcing some eco friendly tackifiers to add to my fractionated coconut oil.

I think I am going to go ahead and mix my first batch of gas at 40:1 with the Maxima K2 oil I have on hand. I might mix up another 5 gallons at 32:1 for when I am milling with the saw.

I may go ahead and do MM before I start milling with the saw so it is better able to remove heat. I also ordered a max flow setup which should facilitate better breathing and filtration over the stock setup.

Some of the wood I am going to possibly mill will be kind of dirty from a year of sitting in one spot. Thinking about running a good semi-chisel chain that should hold up better with all thw grit that will be present.

Definitely open to any advice or feedback pn what I propose to do. it would be much appreciated!

Here are some pics that are relavent to this thread.

Only suggestion I have on the saw part is to knock in the pin so you get some more oil on the bar..have fun.

Nice saw! Im mostly a husqvarna fan but i do got to admit the 661 is good looking saw. Much sexier than than the 660/066. Im sure with late model ones are devoid of the issues that ralphy boy had with his.

I remember telling Randy I was going to send him one when these saws were first announced. If I ever get my 395 running, I'll probably bite the bullet. Will definitely wait till the warranty is out though.

I have Makita 6421, brand new Mahle p/c and the hd filter kit. My go ahead and send that to him. Would be intersting to see how a ported 7900 compares to this saw.

Btw, nice looking saw! Were did you get the bar?

From what I hear he ports a mean 395 and 7900. I've got three done so far and ordered another when they are released. Thanks! I haven't had much time to run it but she is a beast for sure. Idk if you know redbull661 on the other forums but he had the bar new got it from him. It's a 36 in .063 which is supposed too carry more oil. I'm running an 8 pin and have the oil pin knocked in and turned all the way up.

I've got a 661 and have done some light milling and for some reason has become my go-to firewood saw. Your going to love it.

What's the max flow set up? I'm a newbie to saw mods. Thanks

Btw I like the pic of the gas pump....

That thing cuts like a boss! Is the muffler mod the only thing done to it or is there a few other things? After I demanded that the saw shop that I purchased my saw from put all new updated electronics on it I've had not one problem what so ever and couldn't be happier. I did however put an 8 pin sprocket on it which sped up the cut. I'd definitely want to do a muffler mod here at some point in the near future. My warranty is about out so time to open it up and make it run!

Looks to be an upgrade to the Stihl HD setup. I can't wait to run it in some big wood.
