Got a legit looking email this morning from Apple iTunes . Email address looked legit. Warned about a locked account and link to fix problem. I never use iTunes anyway. The last half of the email contained some grammar errors and a couple sentences with very odd wording . I read it several times and spammed it. I haven't checked to see if my iTunes account is locked . Pretty sure it was a scam email to get account info. Just a heads up folks.
If you got an email about your account being locked, there are two possibilities. 1) It's legit and someone is locked out of your account, such as a family member or an account theif. 2) It's a fake and they want to put your info into their fake website so they can steal your account.
Here is the last half of the email with some strange wording. ""This account locked will affect your ability to: Buy App in AppStore Rejected Payment Also, you won't be able to: Login to your iCloud and Itunes Remove credit cards Close your account What to do next : Download and review invoice we attach Open and read carefully If it is not you who do purchase please follow the steps that are in the invoice If indeed you are doing this transaction just ignore this email If The Information Above Looks Familiar, You Can Disregard This Email. ""
Yea that's a phishing email. You can forward it to itunes fraud dept if you want to make sure. They'll email you back and let you know either way.
There’s a hot babe who’s really into me I met online. She likes everything I like including cat-fishing. She’s got a reallly deep voice though.............
I got something of that nature a couple of weeks ago... But I trashed it... Since I was gutterly believing it...
Yeah, my wife got an email about her iTunes account being locked. Funny thing, she doesn't have one, never has! SCAM!
Yeah I get these also in the form of iTunes that someone bought something from my info to something being delivered from amazon but since most of my transactions are done electronically, it’s hard for someone to get a match done from my phone. All fingerprint scanned now too.
Check you bank statements, just in case, my debit card just got hacked, I've never used I tunes, had a .74 cent charge a month ago and a $40 charge a week later. Luckily the bank caught it.
It's kind of easy to spot the scam emails due to the bad grammar. For the last couple of years I'm on the dang junk call list- representing "US Pharmacy" or "Home Security Company." For a while I told the Pharmacy people I needed tons of viagra so I would be ready for their mama, and they'd hang up. After a while I got switched to the fake security company list, so now I say for safety and security they are on a recorded line...they don't quite know how to respond and they always hang up. I get legitimate work calls from all over the country so I have to answer everything, unfortunately. I figure I might as well have a little fun at the spammers' expense.
