    Gonna get ugly around here tonight. Talked to a few neighbors and their furnaces couldn't keep up last night. Gonna be even colder and more wind tonight. I expect a lot of people will have issues with pipes freezing too. Negative teens is as cold as it gets here and houses and heating systems aren't built for it.

    Water main burst a couple towns over...probably just the start.

    My house is nice and toasty and my pipes are in the basement with muh wood stove. We'll be just fine.

    I’m under no illusions :rofl: :lol:

    That box sat in my garage un used for 3 years now. I’m hoping to use it till I save up for a nice side cabinet to replace it. They make some nice ones for service vans but man are they pricey...

    A few of our guys have better boxes and use them with good success

    So I buy myself a 12" sliding miter saw complete with carbide blade for Christmas last Tuesday...so I set it up on Wednesday and start using it...work for about 1/2 hour when I hear a peculiar "zing" sound on one cut...next cut was slow and smoky...dang it, what did I hit?! I go and grab the piece that made the funny sound...stinkin little rock grown right into the wood...and I hit it dead center!
    :headbang::headbang::headbang:
    Anybody know how to sharpen 12" carbide circular saw blades?! :picard: I suppose it will cost more to sharpen than to replace...if anybody around here even does that anymore...:zip: Kinda like machining brake rotors...thing of the past

    It depends on the blade quality.... I use Forrest blades in my wood shop and send them to Forrest for sharpening it’s about $17 a blade to get it sharpened. They are woodworker 2 blades.

    I’ve sent other blades in and it was still cheaper but the blades had such small teeth to begin with that they didn’t balance right after sharpening.

    If it’s Diablo or similar quality you can defiantly get them sharpened but the shop doing it may need to weld on new teeth after a rock hit.
