Compared to last night's wind when I went out to check if I needed to turn up the pellet stove, it was nice. I hate cold and I AM cold most of the time.

Edit - not like I went out there in shorts. I had on my t-shirt, sweatshirt and a heavy sweater, My feet were covered by socks and shoes. (and I had on pants too - just because if I don't say that there will be some smarty pants out there making comments)

 

Called for 21 below last night it was 28.6 below this morning. After burning a pallet of LeCrete since firing up the stove this year and being very happy. Yesterday I started burning Northern Warmth Supreme Douglas Fir..... , great heat! The stove has been flawless with absolutely no errors this year. It turns out that burning well aged LG Granules that the dealer stored outside for at least a year, really made it miserable to bother burning pellets.

We came home last week because of the severe temperatures that weren't just expected but ended up being exceeded. I'm glad we did, many of the neighbors have no running water, some with no septic lines running also...that sucks. We had this mean streak of temp's back in 2004 when we bought this place. We had weeks of -17 to -35.

We were heading to Ottawa next week with the travel trailer, I think we'll stay home for a while instead.

That is a lot of pellets to have on hand. Glad you have the place to store them. Big issue for me now that I have to share space with my son and his family.

I think the fruit cake you sent me for X-mas must have got lost in the mail....I never received it....lol

It was close to that cold here about 3am, -9F, -23F wind chill -

so cold, I couldn't keep working in the porch room / workshop on rehabbing the stove (New Year's resolution). That's just plain miserable cold.
