-10. Trying to decide if I want to make a Menards run.

Got invited on a goose hunt today. Had to pass. Wind chill is supposed to be -26.

We finished off a couple bottles of Spanish bubbly last night. No headaches here.

For some reason, after I went to bed at 2am, the furnace shut off. Good thing the quadrafire kept the house at least at 61°.

I checked the t stat. Turned the heat off then back on. Nothing. I then went downstairs, looked everything over. Nothing out of the ordinary. I turned the furnace off, then back on. And it roared to life. No idea what that was all about.

The furnace has a new control board that I put in 2 summers ago. The batteries in the tstat are fine.

    Idk.

The house quickly went up to the 67° set point, and just now cycled back on all by itself after letting the dogs out for their post breakfast jaunt.

That's a fairly expensive waste. Was that yours, or hopefully yanked from the internet?

Loaded stove yesterday at 6 PM. House 70, -10 overnight. Wake up to 68* house, furnace didn't kick on all night. Just raked down the coals a few minutes ago...reload in a couple hours. Gotta love hedge...18 hour burns in sub zero.

Happy New Year to all of you FHC hoarders. Just above freezing here and possibly overcast skies all day.

I got laundry out on the clothes line yesterday and it mostly dried. Got quite a few things done and then watched the Seahawks game. Not quite the Seahawks we have become accustomed to watching.

campinspecter is still battling the cold so we aren't going anywhere today.

There might be some big changes at the Seahawks.

Wind chills -25. Had a friend call needing more wood. Already been thru most of his supply thanks to thieves taking some of it.
Had to move a face cord up front for him. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Fleece lined pants, arctic carharts, muck boots, wool socks, 2 pair gloves, 2 hats , and a North face fleece. It was tolerable but I wouldn't wanna be out in it all day.

    Yeah, no thanks.

Just opening the door to let the pups out was bitter cold.

Once it warms up to the 6 above it's supposed to hit today, 8 have to take the garbage and recycling bins out to the curb. The recycling bin is full from Christmas crap.

You obviously need to learn the value of having a dedicated tube of chapstick specifically for use on nose hairs.
