I hate when you do that!!

I stalled mine the other night. We had a fire call I hadn't loaded the stove. I got back and couldn't find my keys when I got back to station . Had amother guy drop me at house and I went to drive back to the area to look for my keys. In between I loaded the stove but choked it too soon and stalled it. Good news was it was not long, and I found my keys, the guy that road with me in the trick took them.!!

Not supposed to see double digit temps until Wednesday. More black locust rapidly oxidizing in the stove.

Had the house up to 79 earlier with a combo of firewood and wall heater.
Just about to load for the night and hit the hay.
5F OAT headed to 4. I'm curious to see what the IAT is in the AM.

Warm front hit here, made it up to 17f earlier, 14f now. No wind & light snow so just Ash in the cooker tonight. Long range forecast is looking pretty cold. Got plenty of Oak & Hard Maple for the long run. Gonna have to make a little extra firewood later in the winter to stay on the 3yr plan though. This weather is eating through the stacks pretty fast.

Burning thru 4 milk crates of white oak a day instead of 3. It's going fast.
Met a friend of a friend at the restaurant tonight who works part time delivering home heating oil and they asked him to work Sunday because they are backed up with lots of people low and running out.

No wind, it is eerily quiet.

It was pleasure. I was on the west coast BC gulf island of Pender Island for Christmas. My wife and I plus kids drove there for an 8 day family visit over several locations in the lower mainland. On the several routes from Vanouver to the south east corner of BC we have to go through alpine passes with steep grades that are full of issues when the weather hits the fan. We kept an eye on things and noticed that unfortunately several people lost their lives travelling these routes so we decided there and back to travel I-90 passing through northern Washington and Idaho. We did it in one 14 hour day going there but the weather was better. On the way back we hit several storms so decided to stop in Spokane for a night. It took us 10 hours driving to go from White Rock BC, then skirting south of Seattle and over snoqualmie pass to Spokane Washington. Today it took us 9 hours to get from Spokane to my house in BC which is normally a 5 hour drive on dry roads. Spokane is such a great city to visit. My family wished we had stayed there an extra day but it would have cost us about $450 to do so. We had a to die for Thai dinner last night.

Not as cold here but its -21c/-6f. When we left Spokane this morning it was -1c/30f. We didnt get out of the car much until we hit home where it was -19c at the time. It was a bit of a surprise to my lungs considering that I spent the last 8 days on the coast.

Not sure if Ive asked you this before but you post your temps in F right? Not that it matters much at those temps since c and f do meet. You live in a very cold place. We will get to -42c/-43f once in a blue moon but its pretty rare.

I’m kinda embarrassed to say that it’s to be 12 low here soon compared to some of the temps you guys have. I’m freaking out lol. I washed the car barefoot last year in December. I got seasoned wood tho!!! Bring it.
