Simple job on a sn*wblower. Just need a adjust. wrench, drain pan, funnel, oil. Warm it up good first, too. If the drain tube is in the rear like a lot of them, makes it super easy to tip blower backward some to get all the oil out. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy

I think its the same as mine. The nut is above the tire. She may need a small funnel to get the oil into the drip pan. Mine holds 17ish oz of oil.

Some (all??) of the Sno Tek engines have the drain tube going out the back, so no funnel is needed.....only for oil fill. Mine is like yours....drain is out the side and need a funnel or tube.

ARGH - have to get a drain pan. Thanks for the list of needs - I would have discovered what I lacked at 6pm Monday - when nothing is open (not calling myself a procrastinator or nothing :emb:).

Don't need anything fancy. Actually, if you have old empty plastic jugs and a decent size funnel, you can probably get by with that. Those engines only hold about 1 1/2 qts. of oil, IIRC.
Put the front sn*w collection housing up on a couple blocks of wood so rear is tipped down.....that should give you plenty of clearance to put the plastic jug under the drain.

IHP is correct - my model (of course) has the oil drain above the right tire. The first picture in the book shows it in the back, but then the second picture shows the other way so I went and looked. Okay, so now I need another funnel and a drain pan.

    Thanks guys!

No problem. Take note of how much oil you need. I dont recall the manual saying how much it actually takes. But, if its like mine, 17 should do it. In fact, i start at 16 and wait a while and check the level. Always need another oz or so

They included the engine manual which says 16oz.

Okay, after reading directions again, I need a pan, funnel and torque wrench.

It's been a long time since I've seen temps as cold as this morning. It was up to 2 when I got home at 1:00PM. Decided to run the new furnace for a bit, discovered no heat in the front bedroom. Found that the return line back to the basement was frozen. Thawed now and room is heating up. 0 right now but not supposed to get as cold tonight, only -6. It will finally get up to 20 by next Thursday.

I torque it to snug :D........16 brings mine right to the bottom of the appropriate range. Another oz puts it right in the middle.

Picked up a Honeywell 360 Surround Heater at WallyWorld today for about 27 bucks to help take the chill off the upstairs loft when the door's closed to keep the heat in the main living room - works nice, throws off good heat, and is quiet.

Pellet stove is running at 1.8 lb/hr, Dino Burner thermostat is set at 67 F, cycling through every 45 min. - 1 hour for about 20 min., it's enough to keep the main living area @ 68-69F, and the downstairs crawlspace from bleeding uber-cold air into the main house.

Outside was -9F this morning, the '00 Camry was sluggish trying to turn over the cold oil & needed 5 minutes to begin to start bringing RPM up to normal high idle.. Eesh.

Went car shopping w/ Natalie today - looking at a 2014 Subaru Legacy w/ 66,000 miles, nice shape & no surprises, with a Certified Used warranty through Subaru. We'll see how it goes this weekend.
