The cold has really hemmed me up. I know if I actually got out in the cold I would be alright, but getting out there is a huge issue: I just lack the motivation. It is hard on equipment, and generally my rule is to never start anything below zero degrees (f) outside. This was a rule a construction company had here, citing it just was not worth the damage to equipment in doing so, so I always followed suit. So I wait, but I am getting cabin fever, but am warm in doing so! (LOL)
So..... after a lunch of frozen Ramen noodles, it's time to take a frozen... ~fill in blank here~ Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
We live at about 2,100 ft elev in the Laurel Highlands of western PA. It’s a beautiful area but given our location and elevation it can get cold and snowy. Today and tomorrow it’s forecast to be a balmy mid teens during the day, then back to single digits or negatives till next Saturday. That’s damm cold for this area especially for such an extended period of time. Downright ignorant cold if you ask me. But, there’s about 8 cord of seasoned hardwood sitting down by the barn. We’re good go!
Yes it is!!! At least it's Pepsi and not Miller lite!!! I gotta admit, I've done that a few times with Beer..., I know, I know.....
Same here LodgedTree, -8° this morning. My woods where I cut are out back, I have to cross open fields to reach the woods for cutting. Definitely not worth starting my tractor in these conditions especially as I have enough wood for at least 2-3 years. But I'm also getting itchy. The loggers on my woodlot haven't worked all week same reason too damm hard on equipment.
I still remember one place that offered block ice all summer...back in the 60's. Harvested form the lake (same way) and stored in ice shed laden with sawdust all summer.
