My wife got me some chaps and a Nest thermostat. I'm learning the features of the t-stat, but so far I really like it. Especially with the cold weather we are having right now. It responds very quickly when it calls for heat. I'm not a big techie guy, but fine tuning energy usage should be interesting.

I was quite aggrieved that I didn't get socks this year!

Lovely wife surprised me with a log arch. All I asked for was some splitting wedges.

Got those too. She's a keeper

Hope the arch makes this easier... 20171130_095421.jpg

This pic is just an old set of tongs from an antique store. Not the best set up. The new arch may have to wait until spring. We have a couple of feet of snow now

Got a husky technical forestry helmet, Maasdam puller with 200’ rope some wedges and 2 pairs of alpaca socks! Got my little guy some tree climbing gear so he can be like daddy! That’s all well and good, but got to spend the day with family luckily after working a 14 hour day Christmas Eve and figuring on doing the same Christmas because of the weather. I also got a chance to fry a turkey for a possible new yearly tradition. Best part was seeing our little guy, who is three and now gets the idea of Christmas get excited.
    Funny side story....
We got a sticker book of the whole nativity story for our little guy and had been reading and doing the stickers on a page every night after dinner and he really got into the story. There’s a local farm who had a little manger set up near the road with a spotlight and when we drove by it heading to my grandparents Christmas afternoon my little guy wanted me to stop because baby Jesus was in there and my son wanted to get the snow off so he wouldn’t be cold! Haha
