Yesterday I did a fluid check (all fluids were good) and then greased the tractor along with the plow.

Today we used the tractor with the trailer I use behind the rhino to put in eight bags of pellets through the window.

I'm not sure what we'll get for rain or ice so I plowed out the natural drain on the low side of our house (picture 1080) picture 1081 I was plowing out near the fireplace, picture 1083 I was heading home.

Before I did the above, I plowed out our driveway and our neighbors. Just a guess but I think we received around 5 inches of snow.

Just a few pictures of some night plowing, some in the driveway and some in the woods.

I would've waited until tomorrow but the wife needed to leave for an hour. Since we had rain, freezing rain and snow today it was the wet heavy stuff.

Looks like your branches are under some good weight. How much freezing chit did u get? Nice letting the snow soak it up before it freezes solid.

I'm not sure but the lights never flickered so it couldn't of been that bad. On the scanner the roads sounded bad.

Just had a chunk hit me in the head while i was plugging in the heat for the damming we got going on. Loaded up a stocking with some rock salt to throw in the valley on the roof where it is bad. Water showing up behind the siding- not good. Hopefully the house was wrapped good.

I was pretty worried about ice on the trees all day, but so far so good, and we are as warm now as we’ve been all day (right at 32).

Looks like some good lights for plowing. I added an extra light to my fender that pivots to the front or back - makes a nice addition for some nighttime jobs. I might move it up under the canopy for protection and a different angle than the headlights.

My work light on the back right fender wasn't working tonight, it was working a few days ago so I'll need to check that tomorrow. Hopefully it's a loose bulb.

I use the flashers when I'm on or near the road so having it not working wasn't a big deal.

They say we'll get another 4-7 inches of the white stuff by Monday so I better fuel up the tractor tomorrow morning before I do the neighbor's driveway.

It's almost time to get the sleds off the trailer.

I was wrong on the work light, it works just fine. I spent the day pushing back the banks and making two new areas for snow.

I put another five gallons of diesel in this morning so that left us with two empty five gallon diesel cans so after plowing some we went for a ride to get those filled before the storm hits tomorrow, there calling for eight inches of the white stuff with this new storm tomorrow.

I finally got a 55 g barrel to get off-road diesel in. Probably not an “approved” container, but pretty handy. I hand-pump from it into a can to get the fuel to the tractor.

I think we received around four inches of the white stuff, I did ours and then down the road to the neighbor's driveway. The picture of the tractor in the woods on a trail is me just setting some tire tracks in the new snow, the wife said she like that better until the snow gets deeper. 101_0003.JPG

We decided it was time that we put in a couple of loads of that Oak (White & Red) I scrounged/split/stacked back in 2012. After we burn the F/C of Oak we'll burn the F/C of Ironwood. I checked two splits of Oak with the moisture meter, one read 16 and the second read 19 percent.

After we put in the two loads of Oak, I let the 4540 get warm and then plowed out near the fireplace and two of the trails I set tracks in yesterday. I never charged the batteries for the camera so I don't have any pics.

During this cold snap we'll be burning Beech and after tomorrow we'll throw some Oak in with it. We'll also burn the pellet stove starting in the afternoon and then before I call it a night the pellet stove will get turned off.

We had -13 this morning, the 4540 did a little growl and started up. I had to head down to our neighbor's place to jump start his vehicle, it seems something is draining his new battery. It's parked inside and the dealer can't pinpoint it.

We had a few places to go so once we came back I started the 4540 again and after a nice long idle, I took it to the sandpit and back to warm it up even more. I pushed back some banks and then scraped the driveways down again, I'll start it again tonight.

With the windchill we had minus 42 this morning so the 4540 tried to turn over but didn't have enough so I put a trickle charger on it, I started it back up after my yearly checkup. The trickle charger will stay on it tonight.

You have a block heater, no? We were somewhere in the neighborhood of those temps

Yes but that won't help your battery at -42 (windchill) when your tractor is outside.
