Good morning FHC, it's -7 out, and 60 inside. Starting get down to "better zip your coat up" weather. Poked the coals to get some air to them and added Cherry and Oak to the stove. It's nice to have wood waiting to do what wood does best.:D

Right where I want to be.
This is getting to the point where I don't remember what the forecast was, but it's -11 OAT according to Accuweather.
    I'm goin' with that.
66 IAT about an hour ago, so I bumped the thermostat and added 2 Oak splits then went back to bed. Couldn't sleep, so I'm up with an IAT of 68. Those 2 splits are about 1/2 gone and I cracked the door slightly to supercharge the flame. LOTS of coals to get rid of.

A true Granite Stater, I have done that before. Just to see what is like to go out barefoot in the snow. I didn't care to repeat it. Disclaimer; there have been some consumption of beer involved before said stupid idea was acted upon.:picard:

Good morning all! :coffee: I realize that I am by far the coldest spot and I feel for all of you but I must say this is a bit chilly for this neck of the woods! Now, remember our "normal" temps for here this time of year is about 40º, I don't mind it but you should here the Pi$$ing and moaning around town from some of the locals! :loco:  I explain to them "IT IS WINTER"! I snapped this pic at 0630, we were at 16º DSCN2810.JPG

I never said anything about snow! Only way in walk outside in the snow/ice is when I'm heading into or out of the hot tub, and that' just a few steps.

Why would you not run it at a higher temperature? Even with the Fireview we like to get stovetop to over 600 and do that with ease. That is where the real heat is.

Coldest morning we've had for quite some time. I looked an hour or so ago and it was -19. I'm thinking it was 3 or 4 years ago we hit -24 but hoping we won't break that one.

This is proving to be a weird morning weathewise. Usually the temperature falls to its lowest around sunup. Sun is not up yet but temperature has been rising!
