    When I get home I will check the pile if it don't have any snow on it. If it do, then I need to make more. All the trees here in the interior have crazy tight grain more similar to hardwood rings. It doesn't burn fast, its a nice slow burn. Temperature dependent anything above -15* the spruce will last 8-10 hours and @ +15* it will last 14-16 hours.

    In all my excitement I really was too euphoric running the new saw to really give good feed back.

    toms wood grows slower and is harder than poplar or pine as we know it
    id say its like a maple but not as hard as oak

    Yessir Steve! I have caught the ported saw bug. In all the years I have seen videos of people cutting cookies, never got it. The other day, Dallas and Kevin was giving me a lesson on saw tuning and they made me cut some cookies to warm the saw. Oh my God AWESOME.
