My wife is getting tired of hearing how much I like the stove. She is happy when she is on front of it though.
Oh yeah, the dungeon stove room was 90* when I went down. Julie had it crankin' allright! She had the air set at...nuclear .... Way too hot for me!
At 700 mine starts popping dust particles off it and glowing Was cold start this morning I was up at 5 and went out to the shop at 26 degrees. Came in a little after 7 for breakfast had to light it up took it to 500 then cruised around 4-425 still holding there just burning down the coals
Awesome, 7 inches of snow and 28'F here in north central Mass. Hey B2B, whats that white jar on top of the stove? Looks like you're warming milk for cocoa?
I've posted too many of these, and this picture doesn't do justice but I just filled her up with Iron Wood. Best secondary action I've ever seen on this stove!
What a difference a new and actually right size door gasket makes, I put a 3/8 in a few years ago when it should of been 1/2. Napoleon 1401 insert eating up some ash. And it’s too hot for me now downstairs, up to the 68 degree bedroom for me.
Yep my Timberwolf is the same width. Some reason, I couldn’t get a great seal to happen. Now that will hopefully be a thing of the past, but gaskets aren’t so expensive so replacing them isn’t bad.
Our first real burn in the TN20. White oak rounds on erc coals at 425* almost closed air intake for the night. Can't wait to see whats left in the morning.
Oh I wished but this was an outside burn. Cooked the paint to 460 during the day and then loaded it for overnight so the stove wouldn't get cold or damp in the morning. Couldn't get the temps higher than 460, i guess it's too cold outside to really heat up. But i was impressed that after it got hot i could close the door and even turn down the air intake. The pic shoes it at full burn. Still had a good bed of coals this morning and was at 125* outside temp was 29*. And all of that with only 5 feet of pipe. I think i will like this stove When its cold and cleaned it'll go back inside. I guess we'll have to live with the smell of a real heat up.
I've had another try today but again topped at 460*. Any suggestions? Letting it burn again overnight.
I never burned a wood stove outside in the winter, 29 degrees out 460 doesn't seem too bad. only thing I can think of is, give it lots of air and or pack it tight and stuff it full if you want to try and get it hotter. people usually just do two or three Burns outside in a single day and call it good I never did that with mine when I put a new coat of paint on it
I might be losing track of the timeline here but haven't you had that thing outside for a couple weeks now? Why do you keep burning it outside??
