Our real feel is at -12 now heading for -27 overnight. Actual temp is 11, but thats dropping and so is the snow. Went to church this evening and got 2" while there. Haven't checked for a couple hours now, but I'll be firing up the OWB for the cold and windy overnight temps that'll want to chill the house down. Then, tomorrow morning at it's peak low, I can shovel.
That's correct. My part of Montana is very cold. One of the coldest spots in the lower 48. International falls is first alot also. Look up wisdom. That is close. I'm not bragging. Every Hobbie I love, save for reading, happens to he out in the cold. If I jumped on my sled and went to the creek which is 1/2 mile away it would be ten degrees colder. As of this post it has warmed up to -3. Snow is coming
And I'm heating with plain old spruce. I LOVE it! Up early at 0500 to heat up the sauna with doug fir. I tell you what. I'm pretty exited about getting that absolute steel hooked up.
Yes sir! I'm going ice fishing tomorrow. I wish I built a shanty, but built a loft for racing pigeons. Pretty neat sport actually. Rope, those darn fancy pigeons are better in the cold than any chicken.
Well, I'm gonna settle in to some tv and quit checking the weather. It gets colder eveytime I look. Throttled back n glowing burn tubes .
Nah, I bet you don't, probably go to straight to the dinner plate. I wanted to raise about fifty broilers this past spring. I was given 4000 pounds of good chicken feed for free.
Mostly kokanee, and big brookies. Our salmon aren't much to brag about. I brine them and smoke them in alder. They make great spread for the holidays. I'm a red meat and potatoes guy though
I had a chicken tractor when I lived in south carolina. They had so many bugs down there, all I gave them was a little cracked corn and grit in the spring through fall. Switched to muscovies for a little bit. They produced as layers unbelievably. Never get away with wheeling them to differ spots for forage around here.
Except for a small dip around sundown it was close to 40ºF here all day and is now. Had 30 relatives over for Christmas Eve feast. 30 heaters yacking and kids running around warms the place up right quick. No fire. Rain till noon then the storm cold wraps around the back side and the temps go down for over a week with single digits many nights. Will be burning white oak all week, but probably not until later tonight.
They are quite yummy though! I have a good Kokanee lake 15 minutes from me that I ice fish and troll for Kokanee. I like brookies as well. Depending on the lake we can get some with deep red flesh from eating so many scuds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
