Making a 35 mile trip to the hills for a 3 day moose hunt. Now time to decide who goes.

I regular practice to 1,000 at the range. Have only taken the 338 to 1,200, I don't shoot the heavy match rounds, they are make for the big 338's. And am limited to what the hunting rounds can do repeatedly. I have taken the 6.5 out to 2,000 a few time, its not the ideal set up for ELR work. I normally wont push 1,500 with her.

They shoot great. I would have to dig to get exact best groups. I am not a paper puncher group shooter, only shoot paper during load development or qualifications. The 338 I have only loaded up Barnes 225 TTSX and Hornady SST 225, the 338 will hold right at .5 MOA. The 6.5 SAUM has shot .1's with both 139 Lupua Scenars and 127 Barnes LRX.

My precision rifle with hold .03 to .1's when I am on my A game. Its also a GAP, in a .260 Rem. She runs 26.5 pounds and the 6.5 is right at 13.5-14 lbs and the 338 is 14-14.5 it has a little heaver barrel than the 6.5.

No sir, I have had that for a few years. It needed to come out of the truck for the moose hunt. I was lazy and put it under the tree.

I have been wanting to get a pic and put here. I will get a fee better ones.
