Made two more trips today after taking off the snowblower for maneuverability around a tree near the wood door. This should do me for the rest of the winter. Now I can relax until the next snowfall. Notice how a simple piece of firewood makes a good kickstand for the blower? Yeah, I thought it was a good idea too...LOL.
The small pile against the furnace is warm wood. I'll burn all that first to give the new cold wood time to warm up to room temperature. There's six rows total to last the winter. To show how anal I am, I keep a record of the dates when I top it up like this from year to year. I'm so anal I also have a yearly log on the computer where I write down the dates of each of the rows as I burn them. Am I going too far with all this?
Your not anal Chris. Someone that's anal wouldn't of the left the PTO hookup in the snow. Great looking system you got!
Hey now, if you look closely it's not facing down but is parallel with the ground! No snow in the spline end. I'm anal enough to make sure of that. And it's well greased too!
If it is what you enjoy then I say go for it. For me I would not spend the time going that far with the record keeping. All though I do date my stacks so I know what is available to burn and what is not.
Not too Shabby at all man. The well casing must erk ya a bit. Hooked into a fire hydrant this morning plowing at the plant. That's what they get putting us on new shift work.
It's the woodshed that's going to erk me next year because I have to dig up around the casing and fix an underground leak. I'll have to support that end of the shed while I'm digging. I'm guessing the pipe split somewhere just outside the casing because it bubbles up inside the well tile after using it for a bit. I first noticed it a few years ago but it seems to be getting worse.
I think it's the plastic water line leaking outside the casing, not the casing itself. Where the line goes through the casing is always above the water level in the casing. It has a pitman valve where it goes through. Things like this somehow always turn into a nightmare for me. Maybe I'll make a post about it when I tackle it for everyone's amusement. With pictures of course.
