I have had to bath cats and what I found that works is to wrap masking tape over their paws. They are so busy trying to get it off that they don't scratch. When the bath is finished, the wet masking tape comes off fairly easy.
To bath our dogs, they have to have two feet out of the water so I put a low bench in the tub so they can keep their front feet on it.

I combined a couple of his favorite toys. Jammed his antler into his kong.

Mind=blown. He's in heaven. I made him stop chomping for the pic. He wasn't very happy to stop though.

Sorry about the barfing, no fun for him and no fun to clean up either.

bogieb Kudos, and Midwinter bath your cats if possible, and start them young. Too many benefits for them and us not too. Our now semi-ferel cat will never get bathed, her gashes and bites would be too deep, but our house cats are trained for it, as well as nail clipping and ear cleaning.

All this talk of toe grabbers here recently...we were at my sisters place for our family Christmas gathering tonight...walked in and down 2 steps into the sunken family room...this was laying on the bottom step taking swipes at everybody as they walked in.
This pic was later on...she was swatting the dogs as they went by...

Ruger taking a little nap in the middle of the day.
Funny, he still goes in his cage to nap sometimes, so we leave it up.

Yup.......they learn that the crate is their sanctuary. When we tell Dixie to "go to your room", she immediately heads for the crate very willingly and lays there until we tell her to come out. Often times she will head in there to sleep as well.
