It's the transportation costs that drive the price up and IMO maybe hype too , we can get other softies from the west that burn Great hot and low ash for $85 / ton less , no brainier for me , cost is a big factor in I my decision on what brand pellet I'll burn .

The Super Spruce are also selling very well - Hamshaw's Keene can't keep them in stock, at least a week or so ago.

Going to try again today to see if there's any bag sales to pickup.

Happy Holidays to all, stay warm ! :shiver: :santa: :wreath:

At those prices, they probably can't afford X-Mas presents after buying those pellets... lol

Yep. We have sales tax and property taxes here. I'll tout our wood burning products but not our taxes. :)

Harris energy is the only place to get quality pellets around here, so the prices are higher. All our pellet customers have trouble with these Douglas firs- we are always servicing the stoves adjusting dip switches etc.

Greetings Well Seasoned - that makes sense, I've had to moderately re-tune combustion air on the programmable Francesca stove here when burning DF, e.g.: dial combustion air down, else watch the $$$ fly out of the burn pot.

Prices are much the same in our area of NH, ranging from $6.00 - $7.00 for bag sales, depending on brand. Just about on-par w/ #2 heating oil for BTU's currently. I consider ourselves very fortunate our local (LG/Satisfaction) supplier is giving us a discount currently at $275/ton.

Best price for softies currently I've seen is @ McManus fuels: North Country (spruce), $250 / ton.
