I tightened the squish and modded the combustion chamber along with a 288 mondo deflector and adv timing on my 261CM...with the 16” bar running 3/8 picco chain sqr/sqr ground it’s a quick trip thru the wood ... could do some “flow enhancements” to get more ...but I’m more than pleased the way she runs right now

Thank you sir! Lot of planning into it. Has expanded metal flooring, shadow boarded ends, faces south, prevailing wind from west...I dry quick! Hope you and all are well.

Best plan is to own all STIHL pro models; 241c;261c;362c;441c;461 and 660 ... never had a need for an 880 but your mileage may vary !

Everyone on this thread seems to favor stihls. I do like some of their saws, ive ran a 361, 064 and alot of the old box shaped ones that have loads of torque and weigh about 29 pounds. Never ran a 441 or 261. I like the chain adjustment on the stihls. I hate the master control lever, just a stupid design. The husqvarna saws have always just sounded better and handled better Imho, and in the area where i live they are the choice most people go with. I guess its just like ford vs chevy its a never ending argument. I would buy a stihl if i came across a nice 064, 036, 361 but i would not get rid of my huskys for nobody.

ave .... I have a ballsy 395xp with a 36” in bar for the Biguns ... owned some huskies but seemed to me they weren’t as durable and bolts wood vibrate out ... had a 562xp with the notorious piston-pin problem and got rid of it ... it is a kinda Ford Chevy debate but some models of each brand (STIHL and Husqvarna) are really good and some are “lemons” your mileage may vary !

So are you doing the work or Jack? You're using the same exact words he does.

Yes the modified chamber and flow enhancements is what he says. Any pictures of the port work in them? I have a 261 here. It's husky like enough I like it.

Uh ... yeah ... you would have to speak with Jack himself about pics ... good luck with that ... I’ve had a peek inside but gave him my word I wouldn’t post his numbers or recipies ... sorry man no can do ! I guess he’s been burned before so he keeps stuff tight to the vest ! I mean if you asked nascar to see their engines what do u think they would tell you ?

Add a MS 170. The are a handy little saw. Then you also need a HT131 pole saw or what ever the new one is.

    What happened to this thread?

Anyhoo, i have a 261CM, 361, and 441CM. Of these three, i use the 261 the most by far. Put a 16" bar with 3/8 chain on it. The 441 is just used for bucking up big rounds and felling.
